Good hotel but attitude of reception staff very rude and unprofessional. They are not supportive towards guests and visitors. The location is very good and upkeep average. Needs more professional and friendly staff to make the guests stay comfortable and memorable.

Okay Stay in Bodhgaya

Good Things: ----------------- 1. Best reason to choose this hotel was that this is centrally located in Bodhgaya. All major temples are within walking distance i.e. 5 - 7 minutes walking from hotel except the Bodhi temple which is about 12-15 mins walk from the hotel. If you do not like walking, there is plenty of toto / tuktuk available. Negotiate before getting on one. They tend to quote higher rate. 2. Room and bathroom were big and clean. 3. Staff is very polite. The front desk manager is Bengali and will help you with information you want. The kitchen staff requires a special mention. They were very polite and always ready to help. 4. The restaurant food is freshly made, tasty and served hot. You would have to order in advance to get it in your required time. 5. Ample parking place, something which is not very common in Bodhgaya. For most of the hotels we saw where parking is available, either you would have to park in the road in front of the hotel or they have a narrow stretch (within the hotel) where you have to keep it. Here the entire hotel is surrounded by a compound wall and you can keep at least 10 cars simultaneously. 6. 24 hours hot water in the bathroom both shower and basin which was a relief as we visited in peak winter. Not so good things: ------------------------ 1. Restaurant food is costly with respect to Indian standards. 2. The property is old one. Though there is ample space like a small lawn and parking, it could be improved a lot. 3. The rooms are not noise proof and there is a semi transparent glass at top of the room entry door from where the lobby lights keep the room illuminated (at least to my standard) at night. 4. Fixed menu breakfast. Even after our request to the hotel to have a minor tweak, it was not entertained. The same was done in other hotels we stayed before. 5. Though the hotel has option to provide room heater, it was not specifically stated or informed to us. During winter night temp in Bodhgaya drops to 5 - 6 degrees centigrade, and if you visiting during this time, please do not forget to ask. The blankets they provided are not at all close enough to keep you warm in night at this temperature. 6. It seemed to me, that front desk hotel staff is more eager to get a good rating by talking you through, rather than keeping the service level high for all guests (their service towards Indian travelers may vary a bit) same throughout your stay. 7. Coming to the last point, they have a pet dog who roams around freely in their premises during morning. Even though I am a dog lover, every one might not be and travelers with small kids need to keep caution.

Stay was pathetic and unnecessary expensive. 1) Geysor not working. Inspite of many requests Geysor was not fixed. 2) washrooms not cleaned 3) toiletries were provided only when requested 4) no taste in food. Was also looking unhygenic. 5) Dampness in walls. Rooms were not changed even after request. 6) no water was provided in the room. You have to ask for water when needed. 7) running fans making too much noise. Don't book this hotel . They charge you unnecessarily .

Not a good place to stay

I had searched for a hotel with AC in Gaya but for some reason Trivago did not have Gaya listed but only Bodh Gaya. The hotel was far away from the railway station and it was about 2300 when we reached the Gaya railway junction and it was a ride on isolated roads and very sparsely populated stretches on either side of the road. The road between Gaya station and the hotel in Bodh Gaya was nearly deserted expect for a traffic jam at a traffic police check point. I was not comfortable travelling in such a situation so late in the evening. This is Bihar and law & order situation is not the best in the country. I think Trivago should not redirect clients to adjacent cities, instead, it should clearly state that it does not list hotels in that city/town/village. The hotel itself was not that great and it needed some repairs. The room service guy was a bit intrusive for my comfort. They should stick to their business and not interfere in clients' business. I shifted to another hotel the next morning.

This hotel is just a short walk from the Great Buddha statue and a short tuk tuk ride to the Mahabodhi temple. While it has a garden out front and surrounding the hotel, there lacks places to sit outside comfortably. The rooms are spartan, comfortable and clean, however, they lack character and natural light, so you don't really want to be inside for very long. The restaurant also lacks natural light as they keep the drapes all closed. The food is surprisingly good. And the couple that manages the hotel who are from Kolkata are kind and helpful in arranging transportation. Wifi was strong at this location.
