On a roof top Bistro with beautiful panoramic views of the City Palace, Rop Way & musical Fountain Garden, Havelies, Temples & also view of one of the oldest mountain area of the world "Aravali Parvat Mala". You can request a boat ride on the lake or cultural performances with a little advance notice. Janak Niwas Paying Guest House is well designed and located on the top of a hill which is very peaceful & pollution free.

My adult daughter and I spent 4 nights at Janak Niwas while we explored Udaipur. We had a very comfortable twin room with attached bathroom, on the 2nd floor and overlooking the quiet lane outside. From the moment we arrived the welcome from Sanju and his brother (? Raju) was very friendly, informative and helpful. The other staff had very limited English (about as limited as my Hindi), but they were always friendly, willing and respectful. The rooftop area is spectacular and nicely decorated with plants etc for a great ambience. The small menu is limited to home-cooking fare, but the breakfast we had up there was delicious. Sanju took us on an interesting guided walk in the city, and was very informative about local sights, transport etc. My daughter enjoyed a painting class during our stay, and our transport from Udaipur to Jaipur was arranged efficiently for us with a great driver. I can happily recommend a stay at Janak Niwas to anyone wanting to stay close by the City Palace and market.

Firstly I want to thanks to the owner of the hotel and then the manager. Both are very good and polite person. Good and cleaned hotel with budget friendly. Good for famely as very near to city palace and jogdish temple and lake pichola. Middle of the lake market. Easy to find out. Food is not available at the hotel after corona but all available near to it. Very very good for family.

I arrived in India 2 weeks ago, and this hotel was THE BEST hotel I’ve stayed till now! Comfortable rooms, super clean (I have allergy and in this hotel I got sooo good, I didn’t have allergies issues), the staff are really nice and kind, good location, near the main touristic places in Udaipur.

Had a really awesome time at Janak niwas last weekend. I highly recommend it to be honest. Staff and service was too good. Thank you for having us for your friendly assistance and hospitality and for serving us with your best. We will definitely head back next time when we come.

If you are looking for a place with the best hospitality then this is the place! Even before we reached the hotel, we connected very well with the owner. The owner Shiv and his team go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. A very positive atmosphere and a homely feeling. The hotel is very close to all the attractions. Most are walking distance. If you have elderly people you even have the option of autos which cost you about 100-150. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop with an amazing view of City Palace. The rooms are neat and clean. You get basic breakfast but really good! All in all a budget friendly place, convenient and really worthed!
