Yes, it's only 3 stars and cheap for the area, but the negatives are just too significant for the price

Let's start with the positives: - Great location, right on the beach, lots of restaurants, bars and supermarkets in the vicinity, Dalt Villa reachable on foot. Several (slow, small) ferries stop right outside. Great view from the premium rooms, especially on higher floors - Pool right on the promenade (but of course separated), with a beautiful view - Nice reception area, common areas and terrace. Very fairly priced vending machine. - Surprisingly good gym (in-house, no need to leave the building anymore) that puts many 4-star hotels to shame, with sea views even - Decent, and flexible cleaning, I had my room cleaned as late as 3pm after putting the green sign on the door handle. I found a few stray hairs around the wash basin when I first entered the room, but nothing major - Good mattress firmness for my taste - An email which I sent prior to my stay was answered relatively quickly and helpfully - My request for a slightly later check out time was accommodated But now, the negatives: - Noise isolation is a big issue. Not just between the rooms, but also to the hallway (it's almost like your room door isn't fully closed, you can hear people talking and walking in the corridor that clearly, and housekeeping making a ruckus will definitely wake you), and also the sliding door to the balcony does a poor job at keeping plane, ferry and promenade noise out. - What makes sleeping even more difficult is that the balcony curtain leaves a gap both to the floor and the far wall. Getting the room completely dark is impossible. Inexplicably long and quite thin and soft pillows. That's a matter of taste, but they didn't match mine. - The fridge doesn't do much cooling, items put into it are barely below room temperature the next morning. - Painfully slow WiFi in the room, common areas and by the pool, unusable on the balcony - Only a low table on the balcony, no cushions on the plastic chairs - General wear-and-tear in the room and bathroom. At least the superior rooms need a complete renovation. - Very few sunbeds around the pool get sunshine all day, and nothing is being done about early-morning sunbed "reservations" towels. Towel deposit (€10) is annoying and anachronistic. - Parking for a scooter outside the hotel was difficult to find most days - Bizarrely, housekeeping took my empty contact lens container on the second day. As it's obviously nothing of value, it must have been a strange mistake. Unfortunately they are only sold together with lens fluid so I had to spend almost €10 to replace it. Overall, I will not stay at Ibiza Playa Hotel again due to the mentioned severe negatives. They might be forgivable at €100 per night, but at over €160 for a superior room (without breakfast), they are not acceptable. If you're not a "fussy sleeper", the state of the rooms is not an issue to you, and you have an EU SIM card with plenty of data, it might be a good choice.

We booked a sea view room and it was well worth it. We could hear the waves at night and was very soothing as well as covering other normal noises you usually hear in hotels. Room was of a good size and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was value for money, great options and really worth it for the price you pay. Suggestion for improvement: Safe box was very old and not functioning with a digital pad. Needs to be replaced with a new type of safe boxes like other hotels have.

I stayed in this hotel for the last night of my holiday to Ibiza, moving from another hotel to be in a different area for the evening to be able to explore Ibiza town for the first time. I found the room quite basic and a bit expensive for this reason, and it didn’t feel very homely. I wouldn’t stay again but the beach and restaurants close by were very good.

It’s the worst hotel in experience in Ibiza so far, I would give zero star if there was, we just moved from the other hotel to this hotel and this hotel got no water at all!! We rang the reception, to asked why there’s no water..all he said “Well, in this hotel there’s no water” “the whole Ibiza has no water” which bullsh*t we just stayed in the previous hotel and water no problem! the room much better and the staff aren’t rude compared to this old skanky hotel! Unbelievable! and disgusting customer service!! ANYONE WHO BOOKED TO STAY HERE, CANCEL IT AND FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE EVEN LITTLE BIT EXPENSIVE OR CHEAPER, DONT STAY HERE!

Everything we wanted. Had an amazing view out from the balcony, great location. The hotel was very clean. Also on the last day we were able to use the shower facilities in the hotel before the flight home (after a day on the beach). Would stay here again for a short break away.
