A horrible experience in hotel Hampi International

We had booked hotel Hampi International for one night through Agoda website. We reached the hotel at check in time. We had travelled in an auto from Hampi. We had climbed 575 steps of Anjanadri, visited Kishkindha nagari and were tired. We were looking forward to a good lunch and some rest in the hotel room. We showed our prepaid and confirmed booking at reception but she kept on saying there is a mistake. Agoda people have sent them mail but the booking was closed before that. She wanted us to call Agoda people and ask for refund. She was not ready to give us room. We did not have vehicle and in the hot sun did not want to wander in search of hotel. Moreover we had confirmed booking. We told her to contact Agoda and the property owner. After a few calls and 35to 40 minutes she asked for our IDs and allotted rooms to us. We had a very late lunch in the restaurant after that. We rested for an hour but it was very hot in the room in spite of it being ac room. In the evening We visited Tungabhadra dam and had early dinner by 8 pm. We were very tired and wanted to go to bed early. But again we realised the ac was not working properly. We called the reception they sent a person but he was not able to fix anything. He talked to reception guy and told us they will shift our room. We packed our things and we went to one of the adjacent rooms. But ac in that room too was not working. They had a booking for wedding on the next day so all other rooms were with extraa beds prepared. They told my husband to check two more rooms on the same floor but to no avail. Acs were not cooling. I shouted at the reception guy two three times. Then they told us they will shift us in an empty room on the second floor. It was 11.15 by then. We were so exhausted we took the room. The ac kept on 20 degree celcius was hardly working. We did not need any blanket or sheets to cover but slept due to exhaustion. The story of our fellow travellers was a different one. They are a senior citizen couple. My friend was suffering from vomiting and loose motions. Luckily the ac in their room was working but all other lights were off. They too called the reception 2-3 times but no one was able to fix the lights. Every time she had to use the washroom she had to go in the torch light of her mobile phone. Imagine that for the whole night she had to go without lights. We checked out early the next day as we were to travel to Aihole, Pattadakkal and Badami. We asked for the owners number and got it. We did not have breakfast as we had not booked it. We called the owner in the evening. He had only dry a for us. In the name of hospitality after charging us, we were harrassed by the staff. In spite of room being available on second floor we were made to wait from 9 pm to 11 pm. Guys beware, the property looks good in photographs but this is the real story. They are only after money. In the morning noone even apologized to us.

Worst experience in my life …

The rooms are smelly , staff just ignores about what you need - things like fill the soap Dispenser, get the TV operating. The walls are turnig black and curtains are coming out . The room that was given to us shared a glass wall with the SPA! we were booked for three nights but had to leave after two. Thanks to the reasons above and the sheer neglect by the staff at reception to our basic requests. It says “international “ but the level is not even local . It was a nightmare .

The dining area is very nicely set out but service is a shambles, we asked four times for our order to be taken before getting the restaurant manager, when our biriani finally arrived it was inadequately heated and we wouldn’t chance eating it. The only person seeming to be working was the barman, five stars to him! Our room was dirty and we saw many cockroaches.

Located close to Hospete station. Very big area. Lot of rooms and ample car parking area. Has big restaurant area also. We didnt use much of the restaurant. Was a very short 1 night stay. Reached around 930 pm and left next day morning around 8. We had to select this as most of the other hotels were full and we got it on a travel site. Later we found all negative reviews on TripAdvisor but we didnt face any such issues maybe due to the short stay. Rooms are big. has inhouse coffee maker and kettle. Toileteries were present and bathroom was big too with bathtub. But shower curtain was missing and geyser was not working.
