After two uncomfortable nights at a different hotel, we went to affarwat on the third day of trip and I would say this is such a relief for us to have centralised heating system, water heater and a neat bathroom. Finally we were able to rest not worrying about the cold and power cut. Trip Booking - Travel Triangle.com Travel agent - Breezy Travels.

I wish I didn't have to write anything negative about this place. The view from the hotel windows is amazing! The valley with ponies grazing all day is such a comforting and calming sight! You could be sitting for hours watching it! The mattresses are not super soft, which suited us! Unfortunately, the bed linen had not been changed, and had a musty smell! Ugh! The wifi was strong, but spotty, maybe because of issues at the ISP's end. We were provided with a 'customised' breakfast as there were very few guests in the hotel: masala omelette with toast and butter, puri and alu bhaji, all of which was delicious!

Nice place to stay in gulmarg with family. Tasty food. Helpful staff. Rooms are cozy, room heater and bed heater was ok but water heater in my room was not working. But overall comfortable place to stay. But far from gondola station. Breathtaking view from window of the valley view room

Nice property and food; totally unprofessional staffs

I stayed at hotel Affarwat along with my family. We were a group of 8 and had taken 4 rooms. First of all I would like to mention that the property is quite good and has a splendid view (only from the front facing rooms and the view from back facing rooms were horrible). Food was also very good, we had chicken dopyaza and dum aloo along with rice and roti. Apart from these two good points the place was a huge disappointment. Firstly the attitude and behaviour of the staffs are totally unprofessional. They are extremely rude and do not attend to your needs and queries. We always had a feeling of being ordered around as if we were staying free of cost!!. They even cleared off the food and dinner plates without asking us while we were not done with the dinner. For a hotel which charges 5500 - 6000 per night I would expect the staff to be a bit more courteous especially the restaurant staffs (And they even demanded tips despite the frowns we receives all throughout our stay). Secondly though the hotel offers good facilities On paper, they are very poorly maintained and are hardly of any use. WiFi connections were terrible the beddings and toilet towels were Dirty. They even turned off the room heaters by 12 midnight (late November; when temperatures were close to zero). I sincerely hope the hotel owner/management take adequate measures to train their staffs on their conduct towards the guests.
