Elvira and the rest of the bar staff were excellent. Elvira was especially attentive and made sure all our needs were met. The bar and pool side ambience was relaxing. The drinks and food were very good. The pool hours should be longer. Specifically it could be open earlier. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet is lackluster. There isn’t anything particularly wrong with it but the food is pretty basic and plane. Disappointing there was no Hard Rock Cafe at the hotel. Cleaning staff did not respect the Do Not Disturb sign. They would ring or call the room when the Do Not Disturb sign was out. I had a good stay but hotel was not as nice as others in the Hard Rock chain.

Tonic Bar was great. Elvira and the bar staff were the best. 10/10 for service and drinks. The espresso martini and pizza was great. The nachos were made with dorito-like chips. Not great. But my friend loved it. Most of our at-hotel time was spent there. The rest of the hotel could use stronger direction in terms of management. The complimentary bucket of beer MUST be delivered to the room. So it arrived and I walked back down to the bar area with the guy who delivered it in the first place. Ended up spending 30 mins up there waiting. The bidet stream was weak. But they sent someone up to fix it. There was a stain on my blanket when I arrived. Waited for 30 minutes at the airport for my hotel driver to arrive. That wasn't ideal for the money I paid for it.

I spent quite a bit of time at Tonic Bar and Elvira was a fantastic host! Very attentive and really friendly, couldn’t ask for more from a hotel bar the team were great. A quick service and extensive drinks list, food was lovely too! Really nice chilled vibe to the place, made the holiday just as relaxing as it needed to be. Room felt a little dated but that’s me being picky, I had a great stay and would definitely recommend to others.

Hard Rock Cafe’s first hotel in India is perhaps a lesson to some of the bigger brand hotel chains. They have a director of rooms Obinder which every hotel should have who organised me a free upgrade to a pool view with a double bed despite Opodo messing up the booking. He was so helpful and did a fantastic job creating the ultimate room experience. Beautifully designed with all mod cons but the highlights were the bed where you sleep like a “hard rock” and the absolute revelation of the electric sockets in the room which can take any plug. I’ve stayed in many hotels around the world but never had this. Basically every hotel should have them. The staff were great - including ambassador Elvira - and the food was excellent - from the hard rock burgers with a Goan spiced kick, to the dosas and even the masala porridge served at breakfast and the weekend buffet. And they claim to have one of the biggest pools in Goa. It is a shame I can’t find their brand of mattress here in the UK as I haven’t slept as well since I left but I would happily spend time stuck between this rock and a hard place!
