Fraud & unauthorized use of credit card

Stay and Park AT YOUR OWN RISK at this hotel. On my recent stay I experienced fraud and unauthorized use of a credit card by management and staff at the Hampton Inn-JFK, in Jamaica, New York, a property that I understand is owned by ASAP Holdings and managed by Remington Hospitality. Search the reviews here for similar complaints. You can message me for email contact information for the leadership of these companies. >I booked a Park Stay and Go rate at Hampton Inn-JFK at a rate of $320 ($370.70 inc. tax). This rate includes a room for one night (3/6) and parking on the hotel site for up to 7 nights. I confirmed these terms with Hilton Honors via its Facebook chat, with Diane at the Hampton Inn-JFK Front desk (call arranged by Hilton Honors at my request), as well as confirming via faxed letter and email. >On 3/7/24, after staying at the Hampton Inn-JFK overnight and leaving our car there until our return on 3/11/24, I was emailed a receipt for a charge of $657.58. I tried calling the Hampton Inn-JFK several times but could not get through. I filed a formal complaint through Hilton Honors. No action was taken by the time I returned to the Hampton Inn-JFK for my car on Monday March 11 at 5:30pm. >On 3/11/24, upon returning to the Hampton Inn-JFK to retrieve our car and correct the hotel’s overbilling, I was greeted with a refusal to honor Hilton’s rate, first by the front desk staff and later by the manager on duty, Tiffany Rivera. I spent nearly 1.5 hours on 3/11/24 at the Hampton Inn-JFK, mostly waiting for Manager Rivera as she retreated to her office for prolonged periods of time. >During that time I spent an hour on the telephone with Hilton Honors Representative Michelle Garcia working to resolve the Hampton Inn-JFK’s overbilling. Hilton Honors Representative Michelle Garcia acknowledged my previously submitted complaint and confirmed that the correct total charge for my stay and parking was $370.70. Hilton Honors Representative Michelle Garcia tried several times to call and speak with Hampton Inn- JFK Manager Rivera but could not get through. >During this time, my companion and I observed several telephone calls ignored by the front desk staff and some picked up and hung up on. We also observed another customer complaining to the front desk staff about the overbilling on their Stay Park and Go charge. My companion observed the parking valet overcharge another customer who said he already paid for parking an additional $40/night. >When Ms. Rivera did come out from her office and I showed her my confirmation from Hilton, she repeatedly insisted that Hampton Inn-JFK’s confirmed Park Stay and Go rate didn’t include parking, even after I showed her posted Park Stay and Go rates for other nights (ie, 3/7-$498, 3/13-$570). She insisted that those rates did NOT include parking, despite the fact that the hotel’s room rates on those nights ranged from $174-204 and that no hotel of comparable quality charges any rate close to $498-570 /night in that area). After this, Manager Rivera went back into her office. Although Ms. Garcia tried calling her at the hotel several times, she could not get through to the hotel. >When Manager Rivera eventually came out again, I approached her and put her on my cell phone with Hilton Honors Representative Michelle Garcia who explained the Park Stay and Go rate to Manager Rivera. Manager Rivera refused to correct the overbilling. >Hilton Honors Representative Michelle Garcia advised me that because Manager Rivera refused to correct the overbilling, that Hilton Honors would send me a check for $286.88, the amount fraudulently billed, in 30-45 days. >All this time (over an hour), Hampton Inn-JFK wouldn’t release my companion’s car without an additional payment of $220.75, despite being overcharged for parking included in the confirmed Park Stay and Go rate. After insisting that Manager Rivera instruct the parking valet to release our car based on her overcharged receipt, the car was released. >Incredibly, on 3/12/24, Hampton Inn-JFK billed my companion’'s credit card an additional $220.75 for the same parking anyway. Only upon reporting this fraud to the credit card company, did Hampton Inn-JFK acknowledge the double-billing. Its purported refund of the credit card has yet to be posted, as of 3/18/24. As I mentioned, we witnessed the same kind of overbilling being done to another customer while we were there. Most customers have to run off to catch a flight, as the one we saw complain uselessly did. It seems to be a pattern with Hampton Inn-JFK, according to reviews I have now read here. I submitted a complaint with the Queens County District Attorney and the New York Attorney General’s Consumer Fraud Bureau.

DO NOT PARK HERE! SCAM! they charge more then reservation

DO NOT PARK AND FLY FROM THIS HOTEL! PARK ELSEWHERE!!! This hotel - run by Remington Hotels, ripped us off, and we heard others complaining about the same scam while we tried to resolve ours at the reception desk. Hilton central office 'made us whole,' as they say, but this hotel is a scam!! We reserved a package that included a room for one night plus parking for 5 nights for an agreed on prepaid price, $370.70 including taxes (park, stay and go package). Our room would have cost $175 that day - at times it lists at $200/ night so it was about $170 to $195 for parking 5 nights, about $34 to $38/ night. We checked again when we stayed the night and left our car before we flew off for a long weekend. The parking price seemed high for the area but we paid for the convenience. When we returned, they charged $657, adding almost $300 to the prepaid amount. They looked at the reservations and the emails confirming the cost - and ignored it. The woman at the desk disappeared into her office for long periods while letting us wait. we called the Hilton Central office - they asked to talk to her. When they spoke to her on our cellphone, she asked them to call back on her office phone - then she DID NOT ANSWER IT when they tried repeatedly to reach her! They at the Hilton central office called back and said they would send a check to pay the difference in cost from the agreed on price and what this scam JFK Hampton Hilton, run by Remington Hotels, charged. There are much more reasonable hotels and parking in the area. We had a receipt, emails, everything to show we had reserved. They would not give us the car until we paid extra. Other people caved also to this scam. They also charged for the parking a second time separately, $220 on a separate credit card, and agreed to refund this after I submitted a fraud claim to my credit card and to the hotel.

Utter Disappointment

The restaurant is not a "Restaurant" as advertised. Food was being returned left and right as we sat there for 5 min looking at the baron menu. Tried to order a drink and they were out of almost everything at the bar. The bartender told us we should order Chinese food from an outside business then directed us to the Marriot next door to go eat which was actually a good recommendation. Then, while using the digital key, you cannot get up and down through the elevators for you need a physical room key to scan to activate the floor for the elevator. a major inconvenience. The room was "ok" at best and definitely old and not super clean. Being an HGV and Honers client this was a very poor experience and Hilton really needs to do something about this hotel.

We had a long transit of 9 hours so decided to come here for some overnight sleep (4 in 1 room, 2 doubles). The free transfer was fine, take the free airtrain to Federal circle, transfer comes past every 30 mins, easy/quick checkin, checkout was just dropping the keycard off. Breakfast starts at 6am, fine for us, easy transfer van back to the terminals. We had looked at the sleep pods, but once you add a shower and breakfast for 4 peaople, it was significantly more expensive.
