The location is incredible and the staff goes above and beyond. But all that doesn't excuse the age and unkept state of the bathrooms and the inability to serve breakfast to another guest and me. Ultimately after wanting a reimbursement for the breakfast (as did the other traveler), they served me 3 slices of white bread and a croissant at the desk in front of the reception area, Really!!!! In the lobby. OMG. The evening of my first day I accidentally walked into the hotel next door. I asked the desk receptionist about prices. The price was 5 euro more than Capella and the lace was immaculate, beautiful, rooms were clean, the bathroom was new and the breakfast was fabulous. I simply packed my bag and moved next door.

The hotel is located right in the center of the old quarter with 1 minute walk to the lake and 5 min walk to the night market. Room was find with comfortable bed but bathroom was too old. The door was out of order. Breakfast was ok with some options of local food.

We stayed there for 4 nights. Staffs are friendly. We don't eat meat and they provided additional vegetables fried noodles for us. Hotel is near Hoan Kiem lake and easy access for shopping and catering. Room are nice and clean.

Less than a five-minute stroll from Hoan Kiem Lake, on Lo Su Street, is the Hanoi Capella Hotel, staffed by super-friendly and very helpful people. They offered us a lot of advice, especially on how to save money and time and if they thought we were being overcharged, a subtle smile or glance was enough to send us the right signals. After a tiring day of exploring Hanoi, or returning from some tour, it was a pleasure to see their cheerful faces and tell them about our experiences. Really, the greatest asset of the Hanoi Capella is its staff. The hotel itself is adequate with a very good WIFI connection. It is just a hop step and jump from Hoan Kiem, so close enough to grab an early morning walk around the lake, people-watch over some Vietnamese egg coffee and then stroll back for a buffet breakfast. No matter how late into the night, we explored the city, it was reassuring the Capella was just around the corner.
