First of all, I did not expect much from any accommodations in India. This is because I/we have seen the state of India which can only be described as that they need a change of mind specifically with regard to the cleanliness and following the rules of the country. I find it a little difficult to understand the mentality of the Indians especially when they are driving on the road. It is almost unbelievable and for those who wish to visit India, this is such an opportunity to do so to experience such strange and peculiar country, if I may say. Anyway, we just arrived at the Howrah train station in the afternoon (tourist/visitors - I would strongly encourage you to book either an Uber or an Ola car to take you to the respective accommodation to avoid being cheated by the local auto or taxi drivers. If you are new and have no knowledge of such facility, please find someone that you think can speak in English - they are willing to help you), and our plan was to take an Uber or Ola to get to the Thoiba Residency Hotel. I would say that the rooms are not too bad and of course, the facilities are not according to your expectations of any hotels in England and in other European countries, so be prepare maybe you might have a cold shower in this place. What I truly like and would recommend this Hotel is the kindness and the hospitality of the receptionist and the night watcher there. Kamal and Vimal are really really nice people and during our stay there, they truly helped us as much as they could whenever we approached them. I shall never forget what Vimal had done for me with regards to the internet. He was very mindful and thoughtful for me and my sisters for we needed help to do some teaching online. The price is reasonable in that accommodation and it is only about 10 minutes drive from the train station but with the crazy traffic, it may take you up to about 30 minutes. You can to the destination from the Howrah train station but I would not recommend it because you might get run over and you have to be very cautious and careful because the vehicles can come form left to right and vice versa. So do consider to lodge there and I can guarantee you the service provided and offered by these 2 gentlemen is very commendable.
