I can't comment on the quality of the hotel room since I didn't stay overnight, but the private hot springs were a dream! It was semi-outdoors, which is still covered from all sides (no one can look in), with all the services and amenities meant to maximize the relaxing experience. Bathing suits are not required, but it is recommended to quickly shower before and after getting into the bath. The water is cloudy white due to the white sulphur, and delightfully hot. You can add cold water to manage the temperatures to your liking, though. An outstanding point goes to the staff, which was very helpful and attentive. They were very friendly. We asked for more amenities, and they sent them down immediately. We had a bit of a problem with our neighbor, who was watching TV loudly on his phone (because why?), but it was resolved quickly as well. A wonderful experience overall, definitely swing it if you have the time and money. I felt so relaxed during and after the bath. My circulation felt better afterwards and I spent the rest of the day in a calm and relaxed state, lol

Overall positive experience but property is bit run-down

Location is remote and all onsite restaurants only operate til 1:30pm for lunch service. We walked in right at 1:30pm and were told that we'd have to order our food, wait for it, finish eating and leave the restaurant by 2pm sharp in order for them to prepare for the afternoon tea service starting at 2:30pm. This was all when the restaurant was completely empty, all other tables were already set for afternoon tea service and we were the only table they'd need to turn over. Hard to imagine they'd need a whole 30mins to turnover one table for two. Make sure you make plans for lunch & dinner either at the hotel or other restaurants in Beitou in advance. Staff at the reception and the one who walked us through our room was friendly, welcoming and polite. Room was clean but quite run-down, e.g. the wooden furniture and curtains/ blinds.

Great luxurious spa vacation

Grand View Beitou offered a great start to our vacation in Taipei. My mom and I stayed here for 2 nights in mid-December. From the moment we arrived (early in the morning from an US inbound flight), the staff was very welcoming and offered us drinks while we completed the check-in process. The front desk clerk offered restaurant recommendations, things to do, and made reservations for us on their free shuttle to Beitou MRT. It was 5 star service all the way, and service was always impeccable from the lovely attitudes at the front desk to the shuttle driver and other hotel staff. Everyone was so warm and welcoming. Our deluxe twin room was on the 6th floor (I had requested a high floor) and the sound barrier was great, I heard no traffic at night and slept very well. We also opted to try the public hot spring area, and I liked that it was kept very clean with no wet towels lying around, no garbage or empty cups -- the female attendant was on her game and took her job seriously! major kudos to her. I also liked how they have security protols to prevent people from sneaking their phones into the public hot springs area (the first locker room is to store your phone and shoes, the second locker room is where you can get undressed and store your clothes, followed by an additional storage area for everyone's towels). This is completely different from my experience at Villa 32 a few years back, where the spa floor was a mess and women were sneaking in their phones for selfies. Sorry influencers, not in this area! I'm just glad Grand View takes this very seriously. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was declious both days. We got to try both the Taiwanese version and the western version. I love the curated breakfast items and the description sheet, it makes it so fun. I will definitely return in the future, the overall atmosphere made me very happy. The decor is bright, luxurious and modern. Everyone is nice in an unpretenious way. The only problem: they have set the bar too high, because I wasn't as happy with my next hotel in Taipei. If you have the budget to stay here, please do it! It's so worth it for the memorable experience.

I stayed one night on Oct 15. It’s my second time staying in Grand View Resort Beitou since August 2023. I felt everything good in terms of the room and the services in my first visit. I therefore went again. However, the décor of the room, the view and the amenities were largely the same, but indeed something were different that disappointed me a bit. When I returned to the room after my dinner, I did lose my temper over something trivial including the slippers which are recycled, and the colour of it - only black, the telephone was faulty, …. The staff I spoke over the phone hardly handled me, such a difficult in house guest. I know she was trying hard. After minutes, Charlie came to my room trying to understand where my dissatisfactions coming from. He had been wearing smiles, tried to calm me and patiently listened to my grievances. To many, I was difficult and appeared unreasonable, I know!! In the end, I was touched by his sincerity. His soft skill in dealing with me is superb, second to none in the hotel I am sure. My hats off to him! I have been meaning to send a compliment directly to him and his manager after I returned home but I was kept busy due to work commitment. If I don’t that do, I feel like I owe him a great deal! To Charlie’s direct report/managers, Charlie is precious. He is an indispensable asset in your team. Please treasure him. Joyce Chow
