Over the top pool security

We were grateful the individual at checkin was able to reserve us another room after booking.com cancelled our reservation unknowingly. Thank you. What we were surprised about was the ridiculous security procedure to enter the pool. I have never been to a resort pool where the type of water bottle was regulated and you were not allowed to bring in even a protein bar and a piece of fruit. Give me a break. I was told the water bottle rule was in place because of a previous incident which was not allowed to be shared apparently. But there was no explanation for the snack rule. There are all types of fees paid, to include a “resort fee”. Is the Flamingo really going to loose that much revenue if visitors are allowed to bring in a snack and water? I highly doubt it. I do know the Flamingo will loose revenue when I choose to book a room at another resort, which I plan on doing, the next time I go to Las Vegas. Thanks for the opportunity to provide feedback. Very disappointing

I don't normally write reviews, but it has been a week since my stay at the Flamingo and I am still bothered by my experience, so I feel it necessary to share this information with anyone thinking of staying here. The room was a big disappointment, and, if it had not been paid for by my employer to attend a conference, I would have demanded my money back and gone to another hotel. I wish I could say that the repeated cold showers in the morning were my biggest complaint, but, unfortunately, I can't. The room was EXTREMELY outdated and in need of attention. When I checked in, there were still large clumps of tape stuck to the walls where previous occupants must have attached streamers or balloons to the walls. I removed that. In the corner of the room was a large, pink wad of chewing gum stuck in the corner (I did NOT remove that). Dirty clumps of tissue paper were packed into gaps of the window moldings (also something I did not remove) and the furniture in the room was chipped, dirty and in need of replacement. The bathtub floor had what appeared to be years of dirt and grime ground into it. I trust that the cleaning staff performs a cursory cleaning of the tub, but the filthy appearance is there. I will try to offer positive feedback as well, so.... I stayed in a King room on the 28th floor overlooking the strip. The view was fantastic, although the outside of the windows were fairly dirty (I understand the challenges of keeping the exterior of the building clean at such towering heights. If the room was clean and updated, the dirty windows on the outside would not have bothered me at all). I have no complaints about the bed. It was comfortable and the bedding was clean. Towels were also clean. (Dear Flamingo Hotel: when the highlights of a hotel room that costs $170 a night are "the towels were clean"- there is need for improvement)

Front desk clerk confirmed that we had two queen beds, but we ended up with 1 king bed. Line up to check in took over an hour so it was impossible to go back to the front desk to inquire what happened. Otherwise the room was fairly decent. Very convenient location.

The place is falling apart. Needs upgrade elevators. Working chillers. Better guest service. Employees do not appear to want to be there. As expected, food is overpriced with bad quality. The entrance from strip closed and very difficult to get into. Have to come in from Flamingo Rd or Koval. Very difficult. Valet very confusing. Machines old and spa needs upgrade. Suggestion: do not stay at any Caesar’s properties

My experience with the hotel, overall, was just okay. The lower rating is mainly due to how my billing was managed. In summary, the card used to hold the room was the card I wanted to pay for the room. However, the hotel refused to use that card because their process requires full approval ten days before the hotel stay. The card used to hold the room was the result of support from a nonprofit trying to support small business growth. Most hotels I’ve stayed in wait until. You check out and ask what card you would like to use. Not so here. I am surprised a company the size and success of Caesar’s (Flamingo Hotel) has less sophisticated business processes and technology than Best Western. Moreover, the manager of the Flamingo Hotel did not take my call and refused to come out and speak to me about the issue. I tried to work with the desk support but had no success. The bottom line is if the hotel’s policy or process has this limitation, they should clearly communicate and make it a check before their deadline.
