Pros: The location is ideal for accessing, Michigan Ave, State St, and Millennium Park. It's also along the Red Line. The room was clean. Cons: This hotel was not properly staffed for the amount of guests. When we arrived at 5:30pm, the lone desk clerk was overwhelmed. The Hilton app is available for check-in, but the process isn't easy if booking from a 3rd party like Expedia or Hotels.com. Part of the appeal of staying at an Embassy Suites is the complimentary evening beverage service and breakfast. The beverage service was a bust. The line was 25 minutes long, and there was only one person managing the bar. Breakfast was average, but that's expected at place that offers complimentary breakfast. The pool area never had clean towels. The pool itself was too small, and there is limited seating. The hotel is a magnet for families, and most kids want to jump in the pool, but there seemed to be more people in the pool than water. In addition, we had to ask the front desk 3 times before we had any bath towels. One of the most frustrating aspects of the hotel is just moving around. The elevators are exceedingly slow. You can take the stairs, which we did, but you are forced to take the elevator to the parking garage. Our last trip was a 10 minute wait for the elevator. The staircase is filthy...metal stairs with multiple stains and garbage. The stairs are heavily used due to the dysfunctional elevators. Lastly, there was no housekeeping service available during our three day stay. Almost all of these issues can be attributed to not properly staffing for the number of guests. This is a management problem.

80 to park The elevator is in just one area , it is much quicker to take the steps, and if your in a wheelchair i would skip this hotel by far. Pool is small and overcrowded Breakfast was very good, and alot to choose from. The room has 2 tvs but there is a little trick to get them to work.

For An Embassy Suites, This wasn’t bad. It had a free evening Reception and Free Breakfast along with a pool. It was a very nice stay and the staff was very pleasant to be around. Our sink though wasn’t working but we were transferred to a new room.

No Running Water and loud drilling. Avoid. Should be closed for renovation. Appalling.

Hotel is being renovated. Intense drilling is bad enough, but turned off water at 9am - unable to shower, brush teeth or even flush toilet. Absolutely disgraceful. One pithy little sign in reception is only notice given. Completely unacceptable. If you can’t provide basic necessities during renovation, you shouldn’t be open and taking bookings!

New rooms need to be reviewed

When we checked in we were told that the room we have was just finished with its renovation. We would be the first people staying in this newly renovated room. We were asked to write a review about our stay. I will mention that when checking out I asked the staff to locate a manager to hear my review. One could not be found. Then was told they would call me by 2:00pm the same day. 4 days later still no call. Here is my review. Like I said, we were the first people staying in this room The good notes: Hotel- under construction but not a big deal. Morning breakfast was superb. Nice selection and custom made omelets is nice. Pool was clean and a nice warm temperature. Workout room was clean and functional. Evening option of adults 2 drinks included per person with a selection of snacks is very nice and appealing. Room- Bedroom - tight spaces between beds and walls Wall under sink is pressed in. Not sure how that made it past inspection Lamp only 2 outlets. 2 beds should have 2 outlets per bed for different charging. Not every device is USB Sink refrigerator area - outlet by the sink is not powered. Reset and tested several times and still no power Doors - have small spots showing they were painted over and not sanded first Bathroom- toilet seat. Chipped and peeling. Shelving under sink is missing Tub has rust around the drain Shower a tile has a black scratch Sink and counter don’t go to the wall creating a gap that items can fall down. Front area with couch - didn’t have phone when checked in. Maintenance brought one in while we were unpacking “Desk/table” - design is pointless. Open side with rolling chair. Opposite side with 2 chairs that have a bar right at the seat level. Need to lift the table to pull them out. Can’t sit there comfortably Maid service- asked them to come in to clean up and they never came Requested extra towels and got a pillow and a blanket While items were on point to give a 5 star. Many items screamed 1 star. I could forgive many items on the list for the room but it was made a point that we were the first in the room and to please write a review. So I leave it here with a 3 star rating
