We only checked in here for one night and we wish we stayed longer! The staff was so friendly and helpful with anything we needed and the room was so cutely decorated and comfortable. Due to some longer commutes than expected, we didn't get to enjoy the hotel as much as we wanted to.

This brand of hotel has something very special—————-Superb staff on all levels from reservation to management! Their hotels are all very different adjusting to the surroundings but the level of care and attention to detail is a rarity ! Nothing and I mean nothing is too much trouble! You are greeted as a friend not a passing anonymous stranger. My contact Merlin made arrangements when we had a late arrival and she was on a day off! They all coordinate and work together. So to our stay in Fort Kochi! A few minutes walk to the beach for sunset or Fabindia for shopping, Tuk tuks always available . Twice we were given back money from drivers, and they cost so little! No tips needed but we insisted of course! The hotel provides a tour of all the sights in the Fort area. This was excellent and free! It is a very interesting place with a mix of all the nationalities heritage when in charge. The restaurant here is superb and we enjoyed great meals. Our room was great with a veranda we could just glimpse the sea . The bed was covered in flowers so thank you to whoever took the time to do that. Or perhaps they thought we were honeymooners! It was much appreciated We chatted with neighbours and once on the beach path a high ranking policeman stopped for a chat? Yes it really is that friendly or maybe we look like someone we are not! We did get a taxi to a shopping mall in Kochi itself but really didn’t like it and hurried back to our comfort blanket. That’s the brand probably as close to perfection as it gets. Thank you everyone at CGH EARTH who helped make our trip so special!

We had an enjoyable stay in Eighth Bastion and were grateful for a warm welcome and a comfy room after a very long flight (they let us check in early, which we were very grateful for). Positives about the hotel +without exception all the staff were so friendly, courteous and seemed to really enjoy their job - they definitely made our stay + very central and a nice walk along the promenade past the Chinese fishing nets, with good viewpoints for sunset +bar is licensed for beer and wine, and a nice cold kingfisher after a hot day sightseeing was a plus + rooms are large and airy, bed is comfy. + excellent breakfast, especially if you are happy to have the Indian breakfast (the masala dosa was superb) Less positive things As a result of being central, there is a lot of noise from early in the morning, so maybe choose one of the garden facing rooms if you are a light sleeper - the second you leave the property, you are harangued by tuk tuk drivers, not the hotels fault, but did detract from our stay a little. - a little more information in the rooms about the various activities on offer would be good, the lady who checked us in did run through them with us, but we were so jetlagged not a lot went in, so some material to read in our own time would have been great. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend to friends visiting Kochi.

This hotel is perfectly located to either walk or take a short tuktuk ride to most major sites in Cochin. The staff that greets you is welcoming and kind and each day when we returned there was a lovely doorman that greeted us with a huge smile. He was terrific. Our room was well appointed with the needed amenities and the bed was comfortable. The rooms as a little smaller here but still enough room to move around. Our room also had a narrow balcony where we could sit and take in the activity going by the hotel. The street noise, obviously not the hotel's fault, is noticeable, especially if you've come from a quiet country location but nothing unusual. It did quiet down some in the evenings. The bathroom area was large with a tub and a wonderful shower. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was a modest size buffet with made to order hot food such as dosas and eggs and was good. At dinner we found a fair number of mosquitos in the dining room and a somewhat, I think, inexperienced staff that was friendly but a little spotty on the service. Food was mostly good but nothing super memorable. I definitely recommend this hotel and would return if we were to find ourselves once again in Cochin.

We stayed at The Eighth Bastion to celebrate my husband's birthday . Entering Eight Bastion transported you to a different world, so calm and peaceful, so different from the bustles of Fort Kochi. Our room was spacious and decorated to celebrate the birthday. Our balcony faced "Thakur House", build on one of the 7 Bastions of the old Dutch fort and was an amazing place to sit and watch the world go by. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, the food delicious. The pool was lovely, my daughter and I spent the morning splashing in it. We could truly relax and not think of the outside world. We had lunch and dinner at the restaurant and the food was very nice. The staff helped us out whenever we needed anything. We cannot wait to come back here again. It made our Fort Kochi experience very memorable. We definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a different experience of sitting back and being in the moment.
