Worst Hotel in Asia (mice and they blame you)

This is the definitely the worst hotel I've stayed in during my many travels to Asia. Their pictures/stars/price try to say it's a much nicer hotel when it's really the standard of a seedy, disgusting motel. When we first decided to stay here, the reviews looked good and the had the certificate of excellence from Tripadvisor. I completely and wholeheartedly disagree with every fiber of my being. Additionally, the hotel name is wrong as it is really Hotel Nirmal Mahal, which has worse ratings. The location of the place is terrible as it is right by a huge garbage dump area which stench wafts into the hotel. While the garbage dump isn't necessarily their fault, the customer service and facilities are poor. As we were laying in bed, we saw a mouse running across our bags. We requested a room change with the front desk. We could've asked for a discount, etc. but all we wanted was a room change and the woman at the desk was incredibly rude about it. She refused to give us a room change, claimed it was impossible for there to be a mouse, then accused of us bringing the mouse with us in order to get something. It still confuses me to this day why she would even accuse of anything when we literally only asked for the bare minimum reasonable request of a room change and nothing else. Since we didn't know where the mouse was in the room, I refused to stay without a room change and eventually a male worker came and convinced the woman to change the room. When we were wheeling out our luggage, the mouse ran out into the hallway. The same woman didn't acknowledge she was wrong that a mouse existed and then said since it escaped into the hallway that we had to stay in our room since the mouse was gone now. As you can imagine, without knowing how many mice were in there or if there was a hole they were coming in, we were not keen to stay in that room. After more arguing, she finally let us go to the new room. When we turned on the AC, it dripped heavily on the twin bed below. The sheets were quite stained on both twin beds, but at that point we were exhausted and had no faith the front desk would do anything so we just huddled on the other twin bed not under the A/C, tried to get a few hours of sleep and check out as soon as possible the next morning.

A very clean and neat hotel with good rooms and all other amenities. Clean bathrooms, good staff and tidy hotel. Location nearby is also good with lot of markets nearby to purchase cheap good. Hotel stay Diwan Singh was very cooperative in getting us all the service we wanted.
