It was a mixed bag of feelings and comfort while staying at Hotel Arama Suites. The main things going for this place is : a) It is very close about 300 mtrs from IIM-Bangalore South Gate and it's balconies in the front side are overlooking the IIM-B hostels and cafeteria...so you get some solace of being close but from afar. b) The next best thing for this place is Chavadi Restaurant at the top on the roof. It is a very good ambience and the decor is all natural for an open air setting. It is well spread out across the roof and maximum space utilization has been done. Amazing food with a lot of variety and a bar for drinks. Breakfast was equally good, but the options are same across the days. Servers are very polite and understand the requirements well and there is no delay. Rooms: It is a full suite hotel, with different classes of suites - based on the size. Word of advice - stay on the top floor as the rooms are bigger and recently renovated. We stayed in the 2nd largest Aqua suites - but please check the room before paying or booking as there are issues with the rooms. The front side overlooking IIM-B is very noisy, especially if the windows are not fully closed and held together with wires to somewhat close the windows. Check the bathrooms for leaking faucets and toilet taps etc. And you can imagine the rest. The coir mattresses are better than most 5 stars, as they don't depress into a soft ball - but stay firm and retain their shape. We changed our room to something better in the same Aqua suites at least 2 times - issues listed earlier. They also have a full dewan with mattress for their living room area in the suite, but ensure that you confirm before arriving. In-room Amenities: As required you can get a microwave, plates etc. But, for the tea/coffee maker there is no milk powder nor any cream and no dark tea bags. The kitchen also does not start till 7:30am for bed tea in case your in-room kettle is not functional or there is no milk or tea bags. As they say "it is there...but not really there". It might get there - eventually. Best work around, BYO - bring your own milk powder/tea bags etc... There is renovation work happening in the daytime, so if you plan to sleep in - then please check with the workers to know which area they plan to drill or renovate etc. Overall: A decent (mixed feelings) no-frills hotel for sleeping and dining. Being close to IIM-B is the main reason, so one would be out most of the day and come back for dinner and sleep. This is the best strategy in my opinion...Hotel staff is very efficient, and kudos to them. Chavadi restaurant is amazing....do go there. Ensure that you document every requirement in an email, and confirm upon arrival. Mr. Rafiq Rehman was generous enough to ensure that our agreed and documented requirements are met. Thanks to him and the staff for ensuring.

Arama suites located in friendly neighbourhood has always been a pleasant stay. I always prefer to stay here as the staff especially Rehman (manager) has been very helpful in accommodating rooms for us even at the last minute. The place is sorrounded by greenery and positive vibes which makes me keep coming back here as we stay in arama suites almost 4 times a month! Thank you Team for being the best.

Rooms are very average, but what is appalling is the attitude of the Manager Rafiq Rehman. We had requested a booking for about 30 guests, Even after multiple phone calls, we got no response from them. Since they had very nicely assured us about the availability we were not too worried, but decided to pay a visit to check what the hold up was. We met Mr. Rafiq Rehman. When we explained the situation to him, for the first 15 mins he simply refused to believe that someone had taken our reservation, it was extremely frustrating, he denied that anyone called Sagar had ever worked there, or had shown us the rooms. We had to explain to him for so long, even give the phone number and description of the person and then he agreed that they had a staff that was fired a few days ago. He kept denying that we even sent an email, when we made him check, he found our email and simpy said ' We don't check email, you should've called on the landline' So firstly, if your staff is not trained, they should not be giving out inaccurate information. And if they have, you should be taking some responsibility for it and try to solve the problem, rather than pretending that it never happened. Overall I just wanted to share that considering the pressure we were under, the short time notice, the large no. of guests we had to handle, the non responsiveness initially and the horrible behaviour of your manager, this has been one of the most unpleasant experiences interacting with Arama Suites.

I stayed for a day in the hotel. Most of the things were good, Breakfast was also available which was nice. but the most basic thing the room floor was not clean at all as if it has not been wiped for months which is a shame because even after al things are good if room is not clean noting else matters. I just walked the floor barefoot after taking bath for 30 s and I see my legs are turned brown because entire floor is covered with dust.
