April 20 is a real haven for anyone heading to South Goa. Palolem on my second visit has become what happens when the prices go up and the scene moves on, a bit of a charmless struggle, where once you haggled now you seem to be plain out arguing at with the locals charging insane prices. But Patnem one cove over still remains quieter and more sheltered from the force of tourism. Our favourite hang out is April 20 a homely small resort has a dozen or so well constructed, quiet bungalows not huts, this is a step up from the backpacker beach huts and are spacious and secure, it is more expensive than a lot in the area but we loved the standard and service there. The rooms and surrounds are very well maintained and the beach restaurant is of a high standard for the area, very nice food, especially the dal fry’s and tandoori dishes. It sits on a clean stretch of beach and as there are not many rooms you do get a personal touch and will easily feel part of the family there.

The room was clean and spacious and surprisingly quiet. The service was amazing. They cleaned the hut every day, inside and out. The food was wonderful. Very kind and helpful staff. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

We stayed here on 3 separate occasions during a 8 week visit of Southern Goa, Kerala and Hampi, the rooms maybe small but the beds are very comfortable, sheets changed daily and everything is very clean. All the staff are very attentive, the location best on the beach with a lovely view for either a scrummy breakfast or very tasty lunch/dinner. Definitely be my first choice on my return next year.

We recently stayed here and would definitely recommend it. We took the beach hut at the front for a few days and liked it that much that we extended it for our whole stay in Patnem. The room was cleaned daily and the bed linen and towels also changed daily. The room had a super comfortable bed and ample wardrobe space to hang your clothes. Many thanks to Vicky and his staff who do a brilliant job. They’re all very professional and they can’t do enough for you. The food is also amazing, probably the best in Patnem, and has been for all the years we’ve been coming. We’ve never had a bad meal here. We will definitely be coming back.

2nd time we have stayed here. This time for 10 nights. The rooms are cleaned daily with clean sheets. The restaurant is very good. The staff are very friendly and always pleased to help. What a great spot.
