Really nice hotel and staff were amazing. Restaurant breakfast was great, however dinner was very average. Rooms were clean and tidy but no face cloths in bathroom for som reason. Milk in room is VERY minimal so we grabbed our own. Only a coffee machine so if you like instant, take it yourself. Location was a little further out of town than we usually book but taxis were there in a few minutes. Not sure I’d stay again but that’s totally because of the location.

Great location with the entry to Garibaldi Station just on your doorstep with the direct train to MXP. Excellent staff at checkin - welcoming me back (having to refresh my memory as I have not stayed here for 7 years) which is something many Marriott hotel fails at - even the UK one that I stayed at on a monthly basis for 2 years ;) Good standard breakfast buffet and some free light snacks during late afternoon in the bar. Breakfast starts at 7 AM (which might be an issue for early birds). Upgraded room (Bonvoy Titanium Member) and a 10USD Voucher to use in the bar as welcome gift. Room was spacious and clean but with two major drawbacks. My personal main issue is the Air Conditioning that does not provide ANY cooling regardless of setting at this time of year but actually heated the room at it's lowest setting. Best chance of cooling the room is switching it off all together and just opening the door to the bathroom to allow for the exhaust fan to work but the room was WARM and the windows does not open. The other issue that might be of crucial interest to those sensitive is that the room was heavily scented. Think walking through the perfume department at the airport! As the smell did not subside for my week long stay, I can only assume that it is deliberate and it was not subtle. Beds are the standard AC "hard ones". Good bathroom with both bath and shower but the rooms are starting to show age with some wear and tear.

The hotel is not in the most salubrious neighbourhood, but convenient for Garibaldi station. Staff were welcoming, and the room itself pleasant, (if a bit less 'Bonvoy' than we're familiar with). The shower had excellent water pressure, the decor was OK but not great quality, but I would be cautious about staying here again due to the fact that the aircon is not turned on at this time of year, (?due to local regulations) and the room was genuinely stifling at times.

AC Hotel offered the best night stay during my travels in Europe. This hotel offered the space, comfort, and luxury worthy of American hotel standards. Rooms are clean and packed with amenities. The location is also prime considering it's right next door to a subway station and just a few steps from a key train terminal.

We were 3 couples coming off a post-riverboat cruise in Lake Como who were going to spend 3 days touring Milan before flying home. Our travel agent booked us into the AC Hotel by Marriott Milano. The hotel is located at Via Tazzoli 2, Milan in the out-of-the-way-from-main-attractions in the Porta Garibaldi central train station area. It was kind of a seedy area with graffiti outside the hotel and on the local streets. We arrived in the pouring rain but we could not eat at the hotel until 7 pm. Most of the restaurants in the area opened at 7 pm. The hotel has a nice lobby and restaurant but the rooms are modestly-appointed with Ikea-quality mainly metal furniture. The mattress on the bed was skimpy with metal springs which squeaked. I’d asked for a few extra pillows as I have a disability and they only had 1 extra to give me, “last in the hotel” they said. There’s not enough space to unpack your luggage or to place things in the bathroom. There were 2 persons per room and housekeeping didn’t leave enough towels or washcloths for 2 people. One of the reading lamps in the room didn’t work and there was no make-up mirror. It was early November, cold and rainy and no heat in the hotel. Reading reviews those who stayed there in the summer said the AC didn’t work then, either. We were told they hadn’t turned on the heat, yet. It started to feel as if they were trying to save money. They charged 17 Euro per person for breakfast which was mainly cold. The pancakes were cold and hard and the one day we took breakfast because we were leaving for the airport early in the morning, they had no maple syrup left for the pancakes. There was 1 coffee machine for you to make your own coffee. As for proximity to attractions, it was at least a 45-minute walk to the center of Milan where the Duomo, La Scala and the fashion district are located. We tried to find the No. 2 yellow tram they said was nearby but we were never able to find it and had to walk in the rain per their directions on a darkened street, underneath and overpass that was next to a park where refugees and drug addicts gathered. We did not feel safe walking past there and found another way that bypassed that main road and the seedy, dark-at-night, isolated street. Suffice it to say we were not happy with the hotel or the location. Although it says 4-star hotel it’s more like 3-stars. We found it was more like a hotel for business travelers who had conferences in the nearby modern buildings that houses large companies. Most of the clientele were young. We found a breakfast eatery in the area, California Bakery located at Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi 89, 20121 which we passed on the way to the middle of Milan where the Duomo was located. Our last night we celebrated the end of our vacation Osteria del Gambero Rosso at Viale Pasubio 6, 20154 which had excellent food! If we were to return to Milan we’d look for a more centralized location near the attractions in a better neighborhood with better service for the hotel clientele.
