I was about to book a standard hotel room when I discovered the Umed Bhawan Palace and decided to book here for a unique experience—a decision I'm so glad I made. It's truly impressive how well this historic palace has been converted into a hotel. The grounds are beautifully maintained, featuring a serene and lush green garden right in front of the palace. The rooms are grand and spacious, and every member of the staff was genuinely welcoming and helpful. Tucked away about half a kilometer from the main road, the location ensures a quiet and peaceful stay. The food was also fantastic. My stay here was an absolutely wonderful experience. Thanks to the hotel staff for giving a room upgrade :)

Nice property. Rooms are very spacious and the view from the room is just mesmerizing when u see monkeys, peacock and birds from the room early in the morning one will feel stress-free. the only drawback is that they don't have swimming pool.

A lovely heritage hotel set behind a sprawling lawn amidst a peacock filled forest. Our room was a huge 55 sqm and nicely furnished. Plumbing is a bit dated but that's to be expected in an old place like this. The hotel has much charm and some interesting features to explore, such as the billiards room and the stunning durbar hall with its beautiful polished marble arches and columns. Queen Mary was hosted here and it certainly is fit for queen. All staff were pleasant and attentive, and the breakfasts were of a high standard. We enjoyed a drink in the Swinton's Bar prior to a delicious silver service meal in the Dahlia restaurant. If you enjoy destination heritage hotels with a few quirks, this is one of the best value of that type anywhere in India. Kota itself has some really interesting sights, especially the dilapidated but wonderfully authentic old Kotagarh, the original palace fort on the banks of the Chambal River. We loved our four nights at the Umed Bhawan Palace Hotel, a destination in itself.
