Muziris Heritage Tour with Shimna - 4 Hours

Explore old palaces, museums, temples and more!

About the Experience

Shimna

Hello! My name is Shimna, I’ve been a Kochi resident since the time I remember. I think a lot of people don’t realize how unique Kochi is. As a coastal city, it has attracted traders from all parts of the world for centuries. So, naturally, there is a mix of culture and lifestyle here. I especially love the old synagogues and palaces in Chendamangalam. I love meeting new people and telling them all about the Jewish and Portuguese traders and the rich heritage of this city. I am fluent in English, Malayalam and Hindi. Join me on this tour to explore the history of Kochi.

About the experience

Muziris used to be one of the busiest port towns in India centuries ago. On this exciting tour, visit the pieces of history that still remain beautifully preserved. Enjoy the natural beauty at display and every day coastal life as the water taxi wades through water. Visit the Paliam Palace Museum, a beautiful edifice made in Dutch style architecture and admire its beauty. The next stop is at Paliam Nalukettu Museum that displays old, traditional Kerala homes. Explore 11th-century Thrikkavu temples and end the trip with a visit to the Kottappuram Market.
