Colonial Heritage and Market Tour with Rakhi - 3 Hours

Explore the Dutch, Portuguese and British architecture in Kochi.

About the Experience

Rakhi

Hello! My name is Rakhi and I moved to Kochi 40 years ago when I got married. Travelling makes me really happy and I love the old synagogues in the city. I started tour guiding in 2018 because the idea of meeting new people and telling them about the history and culture of Kochi is something that gets me really excited. My trips are well planned and always start on time and I make sure guests take great memories back home. I am fluent in English and Malayalam. Join me on this tour to explore the heritage of Kochi!

About the experience

Embark on a journey to explore the colonial buildings made by the Dutch, Portuguese and English from the 17th to 19th century. Take a stroll down the old Kottappuram Market to spot ancient Dutch buildings and their architecture. Take in the sights of the Kottapuram Fort, a Portuguese fort built in the 16th century and the beautiful Church of Our Lady of Snows. End the excursion with a visit to Gothuruth island situated in river Periyar and head back.
