In Malawi & Zambia with the ONE Campaign for a week. Hotels along the way were good - but ending up at the Zambezi Sun was two clear notches up. The rooms were of decent size, television are out-dated by western standards but the picture was clear and the channel selection adaquate. The restaurant is buffet F-L-D and they change the theme of the dinner buffet each night. Friday, for instance, was Tex-Mex night. Not what you'd get in Dallas, but tasty and prepared with gusto and good humor. The bar service at the pool was terrific. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

Extremely kind and capable staff, comfortable rooms, excellent restaurant and ideal location for visiting Victoria Falls make this hotel an excellent choice. The Zambezi Sun Hotel is a relaxing oasis. Within the same hotel group as the much pricier Royal Livingston Hotel just down the road, the Zambezi Sun offers good value. You can walk the level 10 minute path to the Royal Livingston Hotel, and see resident zebra and giraffe. Our group was very happy staying at this hotel.

Great start to our tour-holiday staying here, the hotel is very open and animals wander around everywhere! There is a resident giraffe and when we returned to the hotel after our first day out, there was a zebra stood by the swimming pool watching the evening entertainment! Surreal!!! The room was simple but nicely decorated in african style which i liked. Facilities were basic but sufficient to meet our requirements. As we entered our room sometimes cochroaches followed you in which was a pain but apart from that i couldnt complain about anything. The staff were fantastic and when they took us out were very knowledgable and friendly, to make you feel welcome. Perfect location to see the Victoria Falls, you can walk to it!! The pool area is lovely and i didnt get bitten once whilst staying at this hotel, very relaxing environment. Food and drinks we had in-resort were simple, good selection on offer, and very tasty and reasonably priced. Would happily stay here again. My tips would be, 1) dont buy Zambian currency, just pay for your in-resort food/drinks etc by credit card - so much easier!! 2) the african sun is VERY strong-where factor 50 to prevent getting burnt (i normally wear 15 /20 and got burnt!)
Cleartrip’s hotel ratings take into account numerous factors such as independent rating systems like FHRAI, media recognition and post-trip feedback from our customers. We make all attempts to keep this information up to date, but cannot guarantee service levels at the hotel to be consistent.
