Very good hotel .Staff are also nice and approachable. It is at accessible place. It is easy to locate for any traveler. I always prefer this hotel.Iam a research scholar so to reach the university and to get bus or train it is well connected..

We stayed for 2 days and 1 night, hotel rooms were clean, room service was good, good budget hotel you wont feel as if u r paying some extra penny for your stay, worth staying, the only drawback is hotel doesn't have restaurant. The hotel is at moderate distance from the places but it was okay for us as we have taken some bikes on rent. One imp info do have your lunch and dinner on time, most of the restaurants wont serve lunch after 4pm and dinner after 10/10.30pmMust Visit places in pondi1) paradise beach2) rock beach in late evening (its awesome)3) wandering in French colonies (do try French cuisine der)4) auroville city5) auro beach

Very decent place to stay, would recommend! very near to the shopping places and the bus stand. Comfort stay and value for money, also have a generator so didnt feel any discomfort even when there was no current.

The location is very good, just opposite to the bus-stand which makes side-seeing easier and saves time. There is less disturbance and noise-free. The stay is worth the money spent. The hotel service was average.

hotel is at walking distance from the bus stop. Rooms are very good, spacious, neatly cleaned & excellent room service. But this place is infested with lot of mosquitoes. Hotel staff is very cordial & supportive. In a budget of below Rs. 1000 in pondicherry its a place where we can stay

Arriving by train at five thirty in the morning in the pouring rain, we stayed at the Raj Residency, based on the recommendation of a rickshaw driver. The place was very clean with good beds and pillows, cable tv, and a fridge. But the next day, the manager really blew it when he decided to wake us up at 8 am (after a late night working) and kick us out at a check out time that was much earlier than the standard ten or eleven o'clock. His logic was that we arrived early, and checked in early, so we should leave early (it was a 24 hour clock apparently). Fine, but if you are going to do that, you have to tell guests that is the case before they go to bed, so that they will not be rudely awakened by your insistence that they leave. Anyway, it was all very rude. Afterwards, when I got huffed, he seemed to see the absurdity of his demands, and to feel badly about it, such that he attempted to make amends, but that was only after we are kicked out and in the rickshaw and on our lovely way. I travel a lot, and stay in a lot of hotels. That's the first time that something like that ever happened to me. It was rather a rude awakening. Pack'm in an move'm out, I suppose. Anything for an extra rupee or two. I am of the option that the bottom line is not the only thing that matters when it comes to running a successful hotel, but what do I know?

I visited Pondy on 15/10/13. Before that I checked the reviews and hotel was looking fine but its worthless to stay there. A/C was not working. Room are full of mosquitoes. Not good service. Location was not good. Most of you can afford but no value for money. Truly WORTHLESS.

After searcing reviews in net i booked this hotel 1 n 1/2 months before my trip to pondy as my kid and aged parents were wid me. i booked a delux 4 beded AC room n one double bed AC room , But wen i reached there they told to me to stay in an another hotel named 'ramanna residency' which was in one word a terrible to stay. After having a storming quarrel they were agreed to evacuate my prebooked room and handed over it me at 7 pm that day!!I faced a hell going experience as my kid was ill at that very time. The hotel Raj Residency is in a narrow stinking dirty place . Rooms are loaded with tons n tons of mosquitoes, bathrooms are dirty. I spent two sleepless nights , just trying to kill those demon mosquitoes. there is no parking area for your car!!! Moreover this hotel is far from the sea beach .its not at all a walking distance. To go to beach u have to hired auto n they will take 70-80 rupees as u r tourist! I faced a lot difficulties . So i will request u not to go there . there are lot of good hotels near sea beach n mission streets. So never go to Raj Residency.
