If you prefer an uncrowded place among Niseko, the famous giant ski resort, An'nupuri would be the good place to ski.
And Niseko Nothern Resort An'nupuri would be a good hotel for those guys.
As we are a family with a 4-year child, we didn't need to ski so many courses or night bars for hanging around, so we chose An'nupuri and this hotel.
We felt our choice was right. Ski-in ski-out experience was so convenient. It's so easy to take a rest when my wife or child got tired while skiing.
Breakfast and dinner was delicious and you can try many Japanese / Hokkaido great goods.
The room was small but very comfortable with cleanliness, warmth and hard-type beds.
Onsen was also not large but it was great. Try take a bath in outside Onsen viewing snow!
The hotel staff service was average.

We stayed here for a week of skiing in February. The resort is very conveniently located for skiing, pick up your gear and then slide out to the lift.
Check in smooth and simple, took almost no time and the questions we had were quickly answered. The room was bigger than normal for Japan but still not so big. Clean though and we slept well - that is always easy after skiing though.
Breakfast, pretty good, hot and cold food, oven fresh pastry as well. The coffee was a bit weak for me, but not a major issue...
Dining, not so many options, tried the restaurant one night and it was okay but not spectacular at all.
The hotel also has onsen - hot spring - it is really a great way to soften the muscles after the day, try it! There are also coin washers and driers.
Location for dining etc is not very good, there is a convenience store in the hotel and a restaurant and a bar, but very few other good options within walking distance. Often we needed to take the bus and it takes a lot of time to go e.g. to Hirafu.

This is our third year skiing in Niseko and because we usually end up skiing An'nupuri we decided to stay there this year and chose the Niseko Northern Resort Hotel. It was great. Ski-in ski-out, fabulous food in the An'Non Japanese restaurant, an in-house shop that sells beer and sake cheaper than their own bar, wonderful breakfasts of Japanese and Western food, good sized rooms and "soft" bed by Japanese standards, a heated bathroom mirror, an inside and outside onsen, helpful staff with limited but adequate English. We actually felt we were in Japan rather than Mt Hotham.
The only negative (and it's a big negative) is the lack of WiFi in the room and the weak WiFi signal in the lobby.
