If you're looking for the pristine glimmer of cold steel and shiny glass and have not problems laying out $200-300 a night for it - there are several candidates in Riga. This is NOT one of them. Just a short walk from the main train and bus stations, Hotel Irina is a warm, hospitable, European style hotel perfectly located to enjoy your stay. For a private room, I paid the same I usually pay for a private single in hostels not half as nice. The free breakfast was surprisingly large - a buffet variety of meats, eggs, fruits, juices, coffee, etc. The rooms were simple, yet comfortable, with clean showers and bathrooms, daily maid service, a TV (but really, who's watching?), desk space, free high-speed internet. The service was very nice - I asked for a small fan because the weather turned unexpectedly warm - it was delivered in minutes. The staff speak a variety of languages, and are not afraid to smile. Can't imagine staying anyplace else on my return to this gorgeous city.

Good hotel in the city center. Nothing special, but great for those travelling on a budget. The breakfast did not convince but the room was nice. Location was perfect and in general Riga is worth a visit.

The hotel is situated right nearby to the main train station and in the walking distance from the Old Town. The central location of the hotel and the cleanliness are the main advantages of the hotel. Rooms are not very big. I was in two of them. Actually the room for a single person is tiny - not more than 10 sqr. meters including bathroom. There are also good rooms on the highest floor - no good view as windows are too high, but at least those rooms are well lit.
Breakfast is good and tasty but variety is not very large.
So it is a good hotel to stay for not a long time to visit Riga Center or it is good for a business traveller maybe.
