The Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre partnered with us for our monsoon music festival Barkha Ritu which was held on 4th July in Hyderabad.
The concert featured Padma VIbhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia who was put up at this hotel. The hotel staff took special care of the maestro and made sure that his stay was comfortable.
The other artists featured in the concert, Ashwini Bhide, Pt. Bhawani Shankar and Subhankar Banerjee also appreciated the hospitality offered by each of the hotel saff.
The view of the majestic Hussainsagar lake from the hotel room is truly a delight.
The delicious spread of buffet at their Okra restaurant and specially their chicken puff is a must try.
The Marriott Hotel and Convention Centre, all in all a great place to stay for your leisure as well as your business trip to Hyderabad.

I stayed at the Hotel from 1st July 2014 for about a week on business trip in one of its rooms on the seventh floor.
The room was fine except that it did not provide a slipper and an instant shoe shine kit which are standard even at many cheaper hotels. The Air conditioning was okay but the it took a lot of time to adjust the temperature.
The buffet at its 24hrs Coffee shop OKRA for breakfast and dinner were elaborate. The open kitchen style was interesting but there was a high level of sound of the chefs cooking, specially the scraping sound of the hot-plate for making dosas and other south-Indian snacks. It was irritating. Though there were many items to choose from, the Hyderabadi Biryani on offer was bland and not as aromatic as it should be. Fish curries were served with pieces on bones and very often the fish was smelly and there was raw blood inside the pieces. I think the style of cooking the curries need to be modified by grilling the fish pieces before adding to the gravy or using boneless pieces. On one of those days Tawa grilled boneless fish and chicken were available. Both were very dry rather than the outside being a little crisp with the inside properly cooked but a little moist. I once ordered Pan Seared Salmon through room-service. The style of plating was very nice to look at and the piece was of a good size but it was so dry and hard it took quite and effort to cut it into bite-size pieces.
The major problem that I faced with the food was that there was no "sugar-free" dessert available on the Menu or at the buffet except on a particular evening during the entire week.
The reception at the time of check-in was courteous and quick. While checking out on the last day, I had a few pieces of laundry yet to be delivered. It was my miscalculation that I didn't send those to the laundry earlier. However, the lady at the reception took care and saw to it that I got those back in the evening after my check-out. I thank her for this. I also specially thank Mr. Maruti Kamath, the Reastaurant Manager for his efforts in resolving some of my problems during my stay.
In general, all the staff were courteous and helpful.

As I am a regular traveler and always tries new brands of properties. During my trip to Hyderabad on 17-07-2014 I stayed in this hotel for a night. I
stayed in Room No. 4020.
The check in took only a few minutes(quicker compared to other hotels) and they gave me RFID Door Key.There was no one to guide me to the room. When I entered the first lift it was not responding and then the lift operator/hotel staff who stood near the lift helped me to use the 3rd lift. Since I was not guided it took 5-10 minutes to locate the room.
Room was an avg sized room may be 12x14. It was properly furnished. When I entered the room temp was at 16/17 degree and after a while i felt chilling and then i increased it to 20 I really hated the pictures on the wall.4 frames with pics of some weird things. The room's window opens to the graveyard next to the hotel so great view.
No shoe stick. No shoe shiner.
The wash room was a small one with a sliding wooden door to save the space because if it is a normal swing door, the door will break the wash basin and the WC.
The toilet had only paper and no water. Also they didn't provided wet tissues. They kept a mug beneath the wash basin without a bucket so I don't know how people will use that mug. Also there is no tap to get water from(other than the wash basin).
The bed was very comfortable with soft pillows (last time when i stayed in Ramada the pillows were hard). There were a good no.of pillows, cylindrical, baby etc. The cover of the cylindrical pillow was torn.
Since it was our holy month and I was on fasting I ordered a fruits platter, Mutton Biriyani and 3 nos. of Dates. They gave me dates without any cost.
And gave me fruits platter of 6 pieces of papaya, melon, pineapple and water melon each and 2 pieces of apple, kiwi, fig and another fruit . I was expecting fruits like pomegranate, apple, mango, banana etc and the fig which was served looks like cold dried vegetables in our fridge's vegetable tray. Biriyani was also an average one it may be my perception because I've read a review in tripadvisor where the traveler wrote that the food is exceptional.
But the staffs were helpful they delivered everything on time and also helped me to check out without taking much time.
I am not planning to stay again in this hotel. There will be rooms which faces the reservoir but all the rooms are not facing it. Marriot doesn't share the standards of Novotel, Taj, Leela, Radisson n Ramada.

Our experience at this location was not that great. I am Marriott Platinum member for a long time and we always had great experiences with Marriott properties. We had lot
of issues at this location.
I called up previous night before check in for requesting on room upgrade being platinum member. We were told that request will be honored. When we checked in, we were told that there are no suite upgrade available. When we requested again, we were given upgrade later during the day which caused us to rush and pack our stuffs again to move to different room. I wish, it was handled more professionally. We always had suite upgrade during previous stays with Marriott in India and US. Also, we understand that this was not peak session.
We rented Marriott car for local transport. We were overcharged for this facility. Looks like, they just want to generate revenue for each and every penny specifically when they see NRI's or foreign nationals are staying which is very bad.
We had SPA service at this location and overall service did not met our expectation.
We were charged for water bottles at restaurant and room. Normally it is complimentary being platinum members.
Check out process took long time as they took too much time to correct our bill. We were almost about to miss our flight
I would like to add that Hotel staff was courteous to our needs but was lacking professional customer service for which Marriott is known for.
I will not recommend this location to stay.
