Small, clean room but...

The room was small, clean, and quiet. It was in downtown Dehradun which by night looked like a hell hole and by day smelled like one.
The restaurant that was ... more attached to the hotel was very good as was the food and service.
What I found a problem was this.
I get up early and generally go for a walk. At six o'clock in the morning I discovered we were locked into the hotel. The front entrance had a pull down metal gate. There was no sign of a fire exit any where. I checked every floor including the roof and found no way to get out of the building.
If one has ever taken a look at electrical wiring in India one would immediately understand why I found this a worrisome problem.
We only stayed for one night which was our plan. I did, however, check all future hotels in which I stayed after this. less
