make sure we were comfortable and to assist us when we needed it.
There were some problems with our tour agency paying the hotel, namely, they didn't, but the staff of the MM Continental was very understanding and helped us to get the agency to fulfill its obligation. Despite not having been paid yet, they even let us stay there a few nights before we were able to sort the whole thing out.
Our experience with the food was outstanding as well. Everything tasted great and was priced competitively. I innocently ordered lamb for lunch the first couple days, but they were out. The next day, our server told me he bought lamb in case I still wanted it! Well, I did.
The hotel is also in a very clean area compared to much of the city around it, but it is a couple miles away from most of the sites. However, we were put in touch with an extraordinary driver which solved that problem.
The MM Continental had many of the things we missed so much on our trip: the staff was trustworthy and wasn't pushy, they were helpful without pandering for tips (which made me tip them more), and the hotel was far cleaner than the city. Really quite a breath of fresh air.
We spent a lot of time in India and stayed at the MM Continental longer than any other hotel because they made us feel the most comfortable.

forced to stay at this hotel. My bathroom smelled like a sewer. I could not stand in the bathroom for more than a few minutes bec the stench was so bad. I checked out the rooms of my fellow travelers & their rooms were just as bad. If I had to stay a 2nd night, I would have checked out & gone to another hotel. I just need a safe & clean hotel room w/ hot water. I don't need the Ritz Carlton. But this place was bad.
I've been around--traveled to China, Japan, South Korea, Argentina, Peru, Italy, Turkey, & other countries. I've seen my fair share of hotel rooms. But this place was bad.

Filthy, uncared for, neglected, depressing. Bathroom window would be good to plunge to your death from, dangerous. One pillow we had felt like it was full of pebbles.
