in at Maneck Residency which was better.
We opted for Family room which had 2 separate bedrooms. Each room had a big bed with TV. There were no towels / soaps provided to guests. Hot water was available from 7-10 am only. The bed and blankets were good. The door locks were not working properly and there was no bathroom mats. After several reminders, we were given a cloth which was to be used as mat. These small things needs to be addressed by the management.
They have a restaurant and food is bad, we ordered for snacks and it was oily and burnt. For Breakfast, they offered Idli and Vada which was equally bad. We requested them to get our dinner from other restaurant and they got it from Nahar ( Utsav Restaurant ) which was good. Room service is average and needs to be improved.
The location is near to bus stand and railway station which is positive. Overall we got a good deal as it was off season. The check in and check out is 12 noon but they were flexible for couple of hours.
We started our journey back to Bangalore through Gudalur - Mysore route. At Gudalur, we had our lunch at Archies Restaurant at New Panchayat office. This is a small restaurant, food is delicious and DO NOT MISS IT. They serve hot gravy dish in pots which will suffice for 4 people and are charged at very minimum price. WORTH the MONEY.

was dirty, linens & blankets were dirty. Towel and soap were not given. Bed-tea, breakfast and dinner comes from other place and so do not remain warm and tasty. Manager and staff are do not care for the guests as if there is a monoploy. Do not try Maneck Residency.

the hotel & were expecting to have a good & pleasant stay in Ooty. However, all our expectations & happiness were ruined due to our stay in Hotel Maneck Residency. We have been told about free parking, and the parking facility provided by them was in road side. Our rooms were located in 1st floor & stairs given to reach our floors were almost like climbing hills. Phone provided to us was not working, if we have to order something, we have to go downstairs to inform the front desk. The trouble faced by our family friends was the worst. They got a room, which didn't have any electric sockets working, Untidy bed Sheets, Bath room shower was not working. We reached the hotel around afternoon 2:00 PM & ordered food, which they arranged from some outside nearby hotel. When we complained about the issues in our family friend’s room, they confirmed person to repair the switch board & bathroom shower will come at 3 PM. We waited till 5 PM and went out. On our return around 7:30 / 8:00 PM we asked about the repair work & got response that "we were not in our room. Electrician & plumber came and went back seeing our doors locked. We requested for change of room, which they didn't accepted saying they don't have any other rooms available. On the day of our return we went out for site seeing. And reached back at 12:30 and informed about our checkout. Front Desk Person asked to pay half day charges for both the room, as check out time is 12:00 noon. We were told them about all the problems we faced; he told you should have been your rooms to have the problem resolved. I thought we went for site seeing in Ooty & not to have the hotel room resolved. On which the front desk (a rude guy) told hotel boy to change the room where my family friend was staying & get half day room bill charged. Hotel staff was not at all supportive. We left the hotel immediately without doing our packing properly. We took our cloths & other stuff in hand & did all the packing on road due to their unsupportive attitude. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Our stay in Hotel Maneck Residency has made our tour memories really bad.

worst experience till the date. out of the 5 lights in the room only 1 bed lamp was working, there were not even a single power point working, intercom telephone was dead, the bed sheets were torn out, blanket smelled dusty,toilet was unhygienic with a damaged toilet shower, no parking as they said in the ad,they have a menu card but no restaurant, the lunch they provided were ice cold.. they brought it from some other place.. it took a lot of time to deliver the food after we placed the order and at last they bought a sour tasting veg fried rice. the staff were also not friendly,we requested them many times to change our room but they did't do anything.. we booked the room online and paid the whole amount (2 rooms @ 2200rs per room for 1 day)so we were helpless so it was the worst experience of life.. we don't even have a single good thing to mention about that hotel.. the other room 206 was also in the same condition.. the only difference was they had 1 power point working. this should never happen to anyone when the go for a holiday to take a break from hectic work..

we found .Everything about this hotel was so so bad.Unfortunately we had paid full two days amount..so we had to stay there.This is the last place one should stay in Ooty..Anything will be better.
