the hotel. It stopped at Osaka station and not knowing the area, I took a taxi to the hotel. It cost about $7.00 USD and worth it for a tired traveler!
The rooms are huge (not usual in Japan), the bathroom was nicer than mine at home and everything was spotlessly clean! The view of Osaka was gorgeous! The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were not rock hard (like they can be at Japanese hotels!). The shower was fantastic (great water pressure) and the toiletries were nice. Lots of counter space in the bathroom. The room was also very quiet, I never heard any outside noise during the 3 days I stayed here!
In general, the front desk staff were very polite and attentive and even though some of them did not speak English, they made a real effort to communicate. I never expect people outside of North America to know English, except at hotels - which cater to foreign visitors. Luckily a woman working at the Bell Captain desk did speak English very well and helped me resolve a problem. I was waiting for a package to arrive, but it didn't while I was in Osaka. The hotel forwarded the package to Kyoto, even though I said that they could return it to the company - that is great customer service!!
The location of the hotel is very good. The area around the hotel is really nice, with tons of restaurants to choose from. There is a Starbucks in the lobby and a 7-11 with an ATM which will accept North American cards very close by. Ask the staff for directions. Osaka station is about 2 blocks away.
Overall, I would highly recommend this hotel, it was the nicest hotel I stayed at while in Japan and I would definitely stay here again. The price was very reasonable for the value.
Btw: Several reviews mentioned that this is more like a European hotel and if you stay here you miss out on the Japanese hotel experience. Throughout Japan, I stayed at local hotels and Ryokans. The only differences at the local Japanese hotels, are that the rooms and bathrooms are much smaller than those at the Hankyu International. However, this hotel is not like a generic US chain hotel...you definitely get a Japanese experience here, but with some added luxury!

a fee. The spacious room provided a great view of Osaka with a nice seating arrangement in front of the windows. The health club was top-notch, too.

short of food options even late in the evening. There is a Starbucks in the ground floor lobby, very convenient for a quick snack. Depending on the train lines that you, it's very near the Hankyu line station, JR station is about 15mins walk. Hotel room is western style, room size is considred very good in Japan, and the bathroom attached is very big with a bath tub, shower cubicle and vanity area. Though we could not get a non smoking room, there is an air purifier in the room, which gets rid of the cigarette smell. Free wifi. Staff are helpful though they speak little English. Checked-in and out process was smooth. Nice view of the city at night from the hotel room. We will stay here again for our return visit to Osaka.

The rooms in this hotel are huge - especially for Japanese standards. The hotel is located very conveniently close to Osaka station and all the shopping complexes around there.

not easy to find the route to the hotel. It is hard especially when I walked with my luggage in summer.
The most horrible thing is that it was very difficult to communicate with the frontdesk lady in English. I don't expect the staff in such 5-star hotel cannot speak English.
I would prefer to stay in other hotels closer to JR station even if the room is worse. At least I know I pay a higher price for a good location.
