for 3 days and 2 night. The property is a reasonable clean property but not great. It is located slightly off the main market but not very far ( there is a short cut frm the back which takes you to the mall road ).
we were dissapointed with the food quality. After trying once we gave up and never attempted to eat within the hotel, fortunately there are plenty of options available nearby.
Staff was cordial and very helpful. I had a one year old baby and they provided baby food at least.
Hotel has very less space for car parking. Since i was driving i had tough time finding parking space.

The best thing about the hotel was that it was easy to find. However, it was difficult to park and very difficult to get into the hotel foyer as

cars were jammed so tightly when parked there was the smallest gap between a few cars to get through.
The front of the hotel foyer was missing. It was being renovated. Access was restricted by bags of concrete, marble slabs and general debris, so mounting the steps outside was hazardous. Once at the top of the steps, one takes a lift up to the actual reception two floors higher.
We were initially shown to a room on the fourth floor but we discovered that there was no hot water in the shower and asked to be moved. However, the only room available to us was one next to a family with screaming children (obviously outside of the hotel's control) so we decided to stay where we were until the next day when we moved to an identical room on the floor below.
The room was largish with a king=sized bed and a push away which were both comfortable. However, the room was very cold as the double glazing did not fit properly and an icy draught blew through it all night. We asked for extra blankets and these were provided. Initially the sheets for the push away bed were too small but they were changed promptly. There was a stunning view down the valley opposite. Watching the traffic trying to move along the road below was amusing.
Breakfast was a pantomime on the first morning. We had pre=paid for it but were initially shown a menu with only India dishes on it. On checking with reception we were told we could choose from the a la carte menu, but it seemed that some items came at an 'additional charge' according to the waiter. However, we chose exactly what we wanted and were not charged any extra fees. We ordered coffee immediately on entering the restaurant and waited twenty minutes for it to arrive. It came with the food which was actually quite tasty. We counted no less than nine people in the kitchen so why we had to wait so long and ask so many times for our coffee was inexplicable. Thankfully the service on the second morning was much better and we had no difficulties there.
The hotel is a long walk from The Mall, either up many flights of stairs (often with no handrails) or a steepish ramp over a distance of about a kilometre and a half. Going uphill was strenuous so we were thankful that the homeward journey was downhill.
Overall the reception staff were quite friendly and helpful although our driver had to argue to park in the carpark which we had understood was offered on a first=come, first=served basis.

beautiful.
Upon request, our room was changed t and we were shifted to a better and a bigger room.
The hotel is quite old and one of the very famous hotels in Shimla.
The rooms are clean and so are the bathrooms. The bathrooms are a bit small though.
basic tolietries are provided.
The hotel is ideally located from the tourist attractions.
Food is good. However better options are avble outside the hotel.
Wifi is provided free of charge.
the flip side of the hotel is that after 8, one would not find any person at the receptiion. So in case if anything is required, you would not have anyone to call for.
The security guard is always present at the entrance though.
Overall a medicore stay. But considering that Shimla itself is a small place, this hotel can be considered as one of the luxury hotels of Shimla.

reception. I dont knw who he was a peon, receptionist or manager as he dint showed any interest in serving me as guest in all three roles. When i showed him my online confirmation booking id he refused to accept it and said we have no such booking. Thanks to make my trip team from where i have booked my reservation helped me with in 20 min to contact hotel MD and get my booking confirmed. Once i checked in i asked for an steam press for iron my clothes, but the guy at phone on other end thought i called some wrong place and gave me a rude reply that we dont have any sought of steam press in the hotel ( although we are so called 3 star property). Then when it comes to food it was again terrible as expected like other services. All together if you dont want to spoil your holidays and your mood then i suggest you should never choose this hotel to stay in shimla.
