Perfect Hotel - Great Location - Neat and Clean - Just up to the Mark!

I am a regular traveler and always depend on the reviews posted on trip advisor. Believe me, these reviews are very helpful and I have always get the best accommodation, ... more thanks to tripadvisor again.

I just got back from my trip to Dehradun and I had promised myself that I will post a nice review for this hotel Aketa. I had read a normal review on this hotel and corresponded with a few other hotel properties in Dehradun. So I wasn’t sure which hotel to choose. When I reached Dehradun, I checked on all the hotel properties on Rajpur Road. I started with Hotel Madhuban which claims to be a 4 star hotel. There was no one at the reception. And when I saw the rooms, they were just 2 star normal rooms and surprisingly these guys were asking for exorbitant rates. Then I went to Value Hotel and a few other hotels. Hotel Aketa is located right at the end of Rajpur Road, and surrounded by lush green trees and mountains.

I was greeted by a lovely lady who showed me the rooms. I was surprised as the quality of the rooms were any day better than what I had seen at Hotel Madhuban and the price was almost 50% less. I managed to get 30% discount and got myself a suite with a nice view.

The room was very comfortable and had nice tile flooring and very airy. After I had a bath, I was greeted by Mr. Chibber, their CEO who offered me a complimentary bottle of beer and a sauna and steam coupon at their gym. I was extremely happy as I never expected such a level of professionalism in a small city like Dehradun.

We ordered some nice snacks in the evening and the waiters were so chirpy. All of them. After dinner, we took a stroll in their lovely garden and pathway. The only thing not great is the colour of the hotel from outside. It looks like some government building but when you are inside, it is sure pleasant.

The best thing that I liked was neat marble and tile flooring throughout their property. Usually, many Indian hotels use carpeting which smells in monsoons and is quite unhygienic. There is a lot of open space inside the property.

The breakfast was complementary and it was again up to the mark. The South Indian food was sumptuous and I had cheese omlette, corn flakes and much more. Everything was fresh and waiters were also looking fresh at 7 in the morning. On my checkout, The CEO personally thanked me for staying in their hotel and offered a complimentary pick up and drop service from the airport or the train station anytime I stayed in the hotel again. I have stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world. There is no point that I compare this hotel with the others but Hotel Aketa surely ranks higher than the rest of the hotels in Dehradun. less
