Good Hotel. Its very close to Egmore, Nungambakkam and central. This is good for family and business trips. Also has good restaurant, car parking. Right now it is under renovation on one side, part of it is operating.

I have been opting this hotel every time I am in Chennai. Primary reason being the cost factor. And its near to places where I have work. Is not at all cramped, And there's nice parking area for my car. The hotel seems to have a glorious past, most of it has faded. Rooms need serious maintenance. By rooms, I mean, air conditioning, bathrooms. Complimentary Buffet breakfast is horrible. you can have a look yourself. Avoid it (In my opinion). On the contrary, buffet lunch and dinner are good.WIFI is available, but only at reception area.Staff is well behaved and co-operative.Sometimes I feel to look for other options. But mouthwatering last minute offers from cleartrip make me reconsider.Cheap and spacious accommodation. Nice car parking. Very basic. Dont expect much.

Old Run Down Property. The rooms have this mild stick of dampness...Interiors are sad....must have been done atleast 10-15 years back. The rooms have stark white light. Carpet in the room just adds to the whole thing. Food is also very average. Toilets are the worst part of this property. Avoid this as far as possible.

First the positive part, this Hotel is at a good location, they have ample parking, the rooms are spacious and same is the bathrooms. Now the negatives part the Hotel is very very Shabby and is poorly maintained, the interiors in the rooms have water marks indicating leakages and the bathrooms are still worst. I had the complementary breakfast which was below average and not even worth mentioning. It is time the owners should realize that there Hotel cannot be milked further and it requires major overhauling realizing the location it is in for better future prospectus.

Complemantary breakfast adds to the horrow. Idli vada and set dosa along with dried up bread few muffins and a poorly lit dining hall . Please avoid it

Hi to all, we had a reception in Abu Palace for my cousin on March 17, 2013. Except Reception Hall every other thing seems to be worst than ever. Initially, people who gathered for the reception are all happy and enjoyed the atmosphere alot, later it seems to be a vice-versa when we went to the dinning hall. Items they have served: Kesari, Poori + Chenna Masala, Vegetable Kootu, Vegetable Biriyani + Thayir Pachidi, White Rice + Vatha Kozhambu + Sambar + Rasam, Curd Rice, Very Small Vathal, Ice Cream, etc. Of which Kesari seems like Worst Kali, Chenna Masala is more watery and half boiled chenna, Vegetable Kootu which are already rotten been used (identified through the work smell), Vegetable Biriyani some what Ok for others but for me some part of the food was charred, Sambar was worst, Vattal was available only for 1st bandi and even curd rice is also worst. Moreover the Service was very very poor and cannot be tolerated. Guest who came for the dinning hall became shock and angry with the food and their poor service made everyone to shout with the supervisor and it was worst for them and also for us who have booked the reception in ABU PALACE. The cost they have charged for the above items was Rs.450.00 per person which we have paid during Hall booking was undigestable for us. So, pls here after dont prefer ABU PALACE, whereever you choose the hall, pls also taste the food once or twice.
