we were surprised when the hotel turned out to be really lovely. I know that those nice shoe polishers in the hallways are not expressly intended for hiking boots, but mine were lovely and shiny. In our online offer, breakfast was offered for 16 Euro 50, which is frankly too expensive for my budget. When we reached our hotel though, a continental breakfast was offered for 6 Euro 50. The desk clerk explained that the 16 Euro breakfast was at the sister hotel across the street and was a full hot and cold breakfast buffet, but that a smaller breakfast was available in house. It was excellent and had everything we need for breakfast. The hotel room was attractively furnished, and the beds were very comfortable. We could look out over the Spree canal, and it was very quiet and relaxing. Bath was tiled with Meissen ceramic tiles and very clean. In the private entry hall to our room, there was a great little kitchenette, which I read about, so I was able to prepare by bringing hot chocolate with me etc. There was a good selection of black and fruit teas, and it was nice to have dishes and a coffee maker and kettle. If we had stayed longer, I probably would have cooked something too! The hotel also let us know that there were no neighbours in the room that shared our foyer, so that we could leave the roll door open, and wash our cups when we felt like it, without inconveniencing any neighbours. In the evening, we went to the superb Indian restaurant downstairs. It was nice that the in-house restaurant was affordable and delicious. A really nice feature was the little fridge, that instead of having expensive mini bar items that we would never purchase anyways, was stocked daily with two bottles of complimentary beer and the same of water. It was nice not to have to carry those things back to the hotel with us after a long day of site-seeing. A underground station was right outside the door of the hotel. What was really nice was the feeling that we were in the heart of the city, without feeling like we were trapped in a concrete jungle. We wandered along both banks of the Spree, and saw lots of boats and plenty of birds and waterfowl. We found ample free parking nearby in a quiet residential neighbourhood. We will definitely stay here again the next time we go to Berlin.

I stayed in this hotel with a friend during a 4-days visit in Berlin, and can only recommend it.

quiet, and the location was great. There was a minibar with free water and beer which was filled every day. It also included cooking facilities for preparing something small to eat in your own room.
A U-Bahn station is right next to the hotel, so you could reach everything in Berlin very easily, but it was also a short walking distance away from Alexzanderplatz.
Breakfast was not included in the room price, so we decided to go out for brunch every day, and we do not regret it! You can find delicious brunches everywhere in Berlin.
The free Wifi only included 1 hour internet connection each day, which was not enough for us -- you could have bought more but we didn't.
The value was nevertheless great, and we thought it really affordable for its location, services and comfort.

Nice rooms, warm hospitality, not air conditioned, location is outside the center. Location may be an issue for people that like to walk. U-Bahn is just outside the door very

but with a U-bahn station on the doorstep Berlin is your oyster.
If we did have a criticism it was the lack of a view. We were on the 2nd floor and all we could see was the sister hotel on the other side of the road. There's a bit of building work going on too, where either a new hotel is being built, or a hotel is having an extension, but this isn't the fault of the hotel.
The staff were really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We ate at the Indian across the road on the 1st night, which is attached to the aforementioned sister hotel and we had a brunch in the hotel on another occasion, which was Mediterranean/oriental and we had a great buffet, served by a lovely waitress who wanted us to say hello to Kate (Duchess of Cambridge :)).
I would definitely recommend the hotel to anybody visiting Berlin and I'd also book through Expedia as we had a great deal.

very quiet. The location was excellent, easy to reach from Schoendefeld Airport via express train. All the sights were walkable, in fact that is the best way to see the City. A few minutes walk away were excellent restaurants and bars. We hope to return to Berlin again one day and would definitely stay at this hotel.
