was clean and well run. The hotel itself felt very safe as did the neighborhood - I walked to the nearby market at night alone and felt unthreatened. Nice linens, good bed and air conditioning (although it was nice to keep the large window open to let in the breeze and listen to the street activities). The only problem was that internet service was spotty - next time I'll use satillite service. Staff were pleasant and helpful - especially with helping us with the liquior permit (Gujarat is dry and getting alcohol was... well, an experience). I was there during the wedding season in December and there were many weddings in the streets outside and in the hotel so the mood was very festive and happy. The hotel restauarant was very good and we had most of our meals there and never got tired of it (and never got sick, by the way, dispite drinking ice and all the things the travel books advise against.) The manager of the restaurant was especially professional and nice and managed to accomadate the food preferences of people from all over the world. If you stay there say 'hello' to the monkeys that will gather outside your window for me!
