This hotels location above the walmart and many restaurants and other shops as well as convenient transportation make it a winner. It's price is far less than the Marriot just next door. It is more of a business hotel though and less of a luxury one. If you are staying there for a luxury get away you may be disappointed. If you are looking for a good value and convenient location this is the one.

Second time to stay in this hotel. Nicely located and suitable for thoes who like a quiet area. Limited english used by the staff. Plenty of shops around and it is located above a wal-mart. Rooms good size with all mod-cons. Nice to have free internet access. I found the bed very hard, not unlike sleeping on the floor. Toilet and shower room are enclosed by glass so you wont have much privacy while you are in there doing your business. No breakfast provided within the hotel but you do get a voucher to get a breakfast in a local chinese fast food restaurant. Limited choice for western tastes. Overall a nice place to stay and very good for your back.

Stayed in this hotel based on the other English language reviews here on TripAdvisor, but my experience was not a positive one. It all started when we had a look at the rooms and got quoted the wrong price...we were told a few minutes later that the price for the room we wanted was more expensive then originally quoted. Fine...we were tired after a long drive from Zhuhai so we took the room and paid 488 RMB (which is about 75 USD).
Once in the room we found that it wasn't properly cleaned, there were used bottles of shampoo left behind by the previous tenant and the bathrobes / slippers were dirty and clearly used by someone else...and were not replaced by the housekeeping staff upon cleaning up the room.
Upon checkout the next day we told the staff of all the problems, but they didn't seem to concerned about these issues. Plus the complimentary breakfast was a joke...a cheap bowl of either chicken or beef noodles.
Anyway, the only good thing about this place is that it sits above a shopping center with a huge Wal-Mart supermarket...where you can self-cater in case you don't enjoy their "breakfast" selection of cheap noodles.
Finally if you get sick of staying in a horribly overpriced hotel (which the Champselysees clearly is) the Nanning Marriott is located in the same huge building...but there at least you can expect to check into a clean room with international service at your disposal.
Avoid this hotel when in Nanning...save your money and stay somewhere else.
