did for us. We just relax and drink welcome drink waiting for key. Then wrote down room number in the card. Went to the room first and wait for our luggages and sure tip the bell boy.
Breakfast is OK. for I can eat only cornflake and boiled egg then for the last 2 morning they came to offer mushroom omlet. Dinners were OK too because we can order alacarte if we couldn't take buffet.
I stay single in double beds room. Everything is OK except they kept on asking our group(not asked me direct) that they heard mail voice in my room. So I kept the light on every night because I afraid of Indian ghost. Plus one night around 11 pm I turned on a tab a tab to wash my hands and came out the bloody water.
All in all I found it OK with this Hotel(may be because F&B manager made me feel like a princess here.

We stayed in Ahmedabad to break up the train journey between Jaipur and Mumbai, so we weren't expecting to do much but decided to treat ourselves to a top end

hotel (rather than budget hostels). We were pretty unimpressed - like most things in India everything is quite hardwork and this hotel was unfortunately no exception.
We called them to make our booking and were offered a superior double room with balcony for 6250 rupees. When we arrived they had our booking but no record of the agreed rate (surprise, surprise). It took us ages to check in with staff constantly walking off, stopping to do something else, answering the phone etc. They said it was 7000 rupees plus 10%tax (7700) and wouldn't budge on the rate (this is also vastly different to what it says in the lonely planet - "doubles from 4100").
We went to our room to find it was a twin with no balcony and had to go back downstairs and argue for a change of room. We changed, but it was only the deluxe rooms that had balconies (which was fine - couldn't really see any difference) but this meant we should have paid a lower price - another argument ensued.
However, the rooms are lovely and comfortable and we could sleep in the sheets without our sleeping bags (a novelty). The bathroom is lovely and the free goodies nice (coffee, water etc). Strangely there was no furniture on the balcony making it fairly pointless as you can't sit out on it.
The biggest disappointment was the pool which was filthy and not possible to swim in (covered in a thick oily grease). There were 4 sun loungers and no shade or umbrellas. There were also a dozen male staff hanging around by the pool making it extremely uncomfortable to get into your swimming gear. We found this disappointing as we deliberately booked somewhere with a pool.
The breakfast was also crap and the service in the restaurant incredibly slow. We also found the conceirge the worst part of the whole place as he followed us around wanting a tip for EVERYTHING. He would even move our bag 2 foot left or right or press the lift button for us and the ASK for a tip.
All in all, for us, this hotel over promised and under delivered.
We went for dinner at 'House of MG' (houseofmg.com), another hotel listed in the LP under Top End Hotels, and this place was fabulous (and cheaper) - we were kicking ourselves that we didn't stay there!

I stayed here after living in a campsite for 2 weeks while building a school and it seemed like luxury. Friendly staff marble reception, good food buffet and optional restaurant

n shops downstairs. The rooms were large. Mine had a balcony overlooking the swimming pool, gardens and river. Nice outlook for the city. The shopping was out of this world in induviduality lots of little clothes and jewelery shops you get lost for hours round the market. Not a very touristy place. I would stay at teh hotel if i came back to ahmedabad which is unlikely a verygood hotel considering the price.
