I took a coach full of people and we stayed at this hotel for 1 night, the hotel was ideally situated for all the places in Nottingham that we needed to be, 1 lift was out of service but this never dampened our time here. The evening meal was served anytime between 6 and 9.30 and the food was still as fresh nearer the end of service.
Check in staff were very helpful and made our stay a memorable 1

Just back from a Caledonian coach trip based here. My room 305 was fresh and clean. Minor dicolouration/faults in Bathroom corners but nothing to put me off. I was delighted with the standard of the food after reading other reviews. I really enjoy gourmet food but I was not paying a gourmet holiday price and there was fresh vegetables to go with the reasonable variety of hot dishes. there was always a fish dish, vegetarian dish and meat of chicken dishh. The soups were all good and the starters fresh and varied. There was always fresh watermelon, grapes, honeydew melon which you could help yourself to if you did not want the gateaux or apple pie. The salads with the starters (all self service ) were fresh. I enjoyed the porridge, bacon and scrambled eggs. The staff John and David were the ones whoose names I remember..were friendly and attentive. The hot dishes were replaced as the trays emptied. I really enjoyed the Turkey escalpoes in Dijon mustard sauce and the salmon steak with a chilli dressing. The roast pork and apple sauce was very tender and moist. The large chicken breast wrapped in bacon was tender and moist too. The Jamacan breakfast cook was happy and smiling evertime you saw her. I did see some guests making requests when nothing suited them and they were given somthing that they liked..The little bits of the vegetarian dishes I tried were very tasty. Some of the coach party had bad rooms but the ones that asked to be moved were happy with the swop. It is true that there is only one lift working but that was not a problem for me. The location is great. It took only 11 minutes to walk from my bedroom to a seat in the Theatre Royal, and the same to the Cinema and mcdonald's for free wifi. The city centre was clean and vibrant. Wednesday night is student night so they all get dressed up.. I saw about 8 girls in smurff costumes..quite a laugh.

I stayed at this hotel in April for 2 nights at £60 per night for an executive room. The reception staff were a little blunt on check-in. One of the lifts were out of order so people had to wait 15 mins for the lift which then called on ALL floors. Apparently it broke down the week before and was still not fixed. I would describe the hotel at 2* - certainly not executive. The shower head was fixed on the wall, so anyone over 6ft had difficulty having a shower. Breakfast was surprisingly good for such a budget hotel, but the waitress was very rude to guests who were queuing up for the buffet to open. At night, security are checking your name and room number before you can even walk into the hotel. Not really sure if that's comforting! I was about 20mins late to checkout. As I was closing my case, a lady from reception knocked on the door, and told me in a rather rude manner that check-out was 20mins ago.
All in all, this is a basic hotel. It is simply a place to crash for £60 per night for the executive chav! I certainly don't plan to stay their again.
