Before getting enough time to admire the fine furniture and great works of ethnic paintings on the wall, you are drawn to the balcony, facing a vast valley, from where you can watch the mountains whisper sweet nothings to the mist-drenched valley???a balcony from where you can watch Munnar in its entirety. Its tea plantations, water falls, tropical forests???.
Magic of Mountain Gods
The vast plantation visible from your balcony is Pallivasal Tea Estate, the largest of 22 tea estates in Munnar. The valley is almost like a big basin and your cottage is on the edge of it. A gap in the far west end permits mist to flow-in and wind carries it like cotton. The mist, the wind, tricks of naughty tropical sun and the shadow of the mountain peaks create an ever changing cosmic experience known as The Magic of Mountain Gods.
