I've stayed here overnight on a few occasions. Clean and reasonably comfortable rooms. Nothing fancy, but perfectly adequate if you are not looking for five-star luxury. Hotel staff are friendly

and efficient. Close to domestic airport (5 minute drive) and international airport (15 minute drive). Hotel arranges pickups from airport.
The price is a lot for what you get but, given the astronomical prices for five-star hotels in Mumbai, this is an acceptable compromise for a short stay. Many other hotels near the airports that are in a similar price range are fleapits.
Restaurant and room service are a bit iffy (in terms of taste and quality) if you are looking for good Western food.

I stayed at the Avion hotel - [--] as an Indian friend was also staying there and found the following of the hotel:
Location - located in Vile Parle East, 10 mins from the International Airport and directly opposite the domestic Santa Cruz airport. There didnt seem to be much to do in the immediate area with rgds to food and malls etc but these werent too far away
Transport: Local Auto riks and taxis directly outside the hotel. Airport pick ups and drops can be arranged. I emailed in advance using the email address given on their website to make final arrangements
Staff - I dont have a bad thing to say at all as i found the staff incredibly friendly and hospitable as most Indians seem to be
Rooms - I paid for a double room, which was fairly clean with air con and a ceiling fan. The AC was a little noisy but not overly. The room i stayed in had a tv with many channels, small wardrobe, decent shower, toilet, desk. Basically, if you're looking for posh then dont come here but if you are like me and just look for a clean room with the basics to sleep in at night then this is a good place. Only small grumble would be there were small ants in one part of the room, but nothing a few deet sprays didnt
get rid of. Dont let this put you off as overall its a decent place
Food - Theres not much western food here but as long as you like indian food theres no problem. The restaurant is quite small but the food is nice enough - dosa's, dal, rice, chapatis, roti's etc
Rates - the rates reflect what you pay for, so dont expect a 5 star hotel for the price but on average it is adequately priced for what you get. Single rooms approx L45 per night and doubles an extra L10 or so.
So, overall i would recommend this hotel if you are on a medium budget and dont expect a western hotel.
