Having stayed and worked (being from the hospitality industry myself) in my share of hotels, I must admit that this was by far one of my worst experiences ever.

Reservation:
To begin with, we were a couple of friends who needed to stay in this particular part of Jaipur for 3 nights. Earlier having faced troubles with the hotels being sold out, this time we decided to prebook. So we booked online through booking.com. This part was flawless, no issues here at all. We got a fairly decent rate as well.
On the date of our check-in we got a call from the hotel to confirm our reservation, the guy also politely said if we wanted any assistance we could call him, he even texted the exact address of the hotel. A great gesture.
2. Check-In:
The check-in was brisk and precise, didn't really have to wait in the lobby for long.
3. The Room:
Now, before I start describing the room. I must tell you that on our previous visit we had stayed in Hotel Tordi Haveli, which is hardly 2 minutes from Hotel Abhay Haveli so we had their rooms in mind and finally when we saw our room we were shocked because the rooms in these two hotels are practically incomparable and the price we pay is almost the same.
Our room was on double occupancy and it is, if not a hotels policy, but common sense to put bathroom linen and supplies for two, there was no drinking water, neither bottled nor regular. We still made our peace with it, decided to stay the night and while leaving the hotel informed the front desk what we needed in our room and told them to have it placed in our room before we came back.
We were back a couple of hours later, there was nothing in our room. So we informed the desk again and came back to our room. After about 5 minutes a gentleman (read "weird manner less guy") enters our room WITHOUT KNOCKING, keeps the linen on the bed, the bottles on the table and without saying a word departs. We were literally speechless and I still am as to what more to write about this.
The next morning, there was no hot water in the room, we informed the front desk about it and a couple of minutes later he came up to our room (Surprisingly this guy knocked) and handed us an electric heating rod and said that there would be no hot water for the day and you would have to use this, again speechless.
This is when we decided to check-out and move to Tordi Haveli, which as I mentioned earlier is very close by and almost the same price but the quality of the service and the type of rooms is much better than what we were offered here.
I still am confused as to how the other reviewers came about describing this hotel as "Awesome" or "Palace on Sand" ?
