Hi Hrush, One thing I dont think Cleartrip has, and that IRCTC has for quite some time, is when there’s a multi pax booking, they give you the option to confirm a booking only if all pax are in the same coach, and another option that asks if you’d like to be considered for an upgrade.

Doable? (and maybe move all the suggestions and feedback threads about trains into this new section on trains?)

Once a ticket is booked – even on IRCTC – you have to take your eticket and an ID proof to the nearest Indian Railways computerized reservation office and have them alter your ticket for you.

Hi Hrush, you once asked me why I wasnt booking much on cleartrip .. as you can see from the last few weeks, I’ve certainly started booking a lot more, as your site’s got a lot of the features I was looking for.

Anyway, one little feature that I wished I could find but wasn’t there – when I had to book multiple train tix for 4..6 pax (family trip), was a “master list” of pax.

IRCTC has this for example – you can define a list of people you frequently book tix for (besides your own profile – which Cleartrip allows you to store), and associate their DOB (so age, and SRCTZN discounts etc are calculated based on this), ID proof etc That way, you’re saved typing in the same pax details again and again.

If by any chance I missed this feature while its there and staring at me in plain sight, please do point it out :)

Can you furnish an invoice that shows the full breakup including transaction fee? This can be generated as an email copy along with the confirmation email.

That should take care of any issues with official trip reimbursement.

Wonderful. Just one more suggestion .. an availability grid (kind of like the fare grid you have for air tickets) if possible. Makes it really easy to know what date there’s tickets available, or that has a low enough waitlist that we can chance booking it.

Hi, Hrush, possible to allow train pax to search for a round trip? If they book a rt you can of course issue 2 separate train tix..

Also, possible to let us search for ‘any ac class’ and ‘any reserved seat even if 2nd class non ac’, right now we are stuck doing multiple searches.

Not really complaining.. 50 bucks here or there doesnt really matter. Just interested in getting to the bottom of the fare difference between irctc total fee (which includes service charge) and cleartrip .. you have clarified this, thanks.

Hi, if IRCTC levies a transaction fee and doesnt show it in the booking amount, and you’re booking through IRCTC, that would mean the transaction fee gets charged double (yours as well as IRCTC’s, as they integrate it into their fee)

What they do display is an IRCTC service fee of around Rs.25 or something like that, is my impression.

hi, trying out cleartrip with the default browser on a nokia E71 i get an error unknown response when i click submit on a search

The e71 is a symbian s60 v3 phone…
