We’re happy to announce that you can now pay with your ICICI Debit Cards for your flight or hotel reservations. Please note, this is different from paying through ICICI Netbanking. You can read about the latter here. This post is about paying through your ICICI Debit Cards. Here goes… On the payment step look for the “Pay by Debit Card” tab (right below “Pay by Credit Card” tab). Choose ICICI bank as the issuing bank, fill in your debit card details, and hit the “Continue” button.
You’ll be redirected to the “Verified by Visa” authentication page where you’ll need to enter your netbanking user ID + password. Don’t get hassled – it’s for your own security – just to make sure no one else can misuse your card. There’s a good chance that you may, instead, be asked for you date of birth or some other personal information likely to be known only to you.
The page you see next depends on whether you’re using your debit card for the first time, or not. Using your debit card online for the first time?If you’re using your debit card for transacting online for the first time, you’ll have to “register” for VBV authentication. You’ll be taken to a page which looks something like this:
Enter your internet banking ID, password, and email. Hit the “Register” button to complete the booking. Nups, I’m a pro at using my debit card online, bring it on…Alright, champ! Enter your internet banking password and hit the “Submit” button.
Help, my card doesn’t work!It seems only certain ICICI debit cards have been enabled by the bank to work online. If your card number starts with a 4 there’s a high chance that it’s going to work online. In case your card doesn’t work, please drop us a line and also pester the bank to enable it online. Note: Neerav, tells us that the Verified by Visa authorization will always fail if your Internet banking password contains any special symbols. |
