Difference in Search Result Between Cleartrip and indianrail.gov.in

When we search for Trains from QLN to CBE on 21.12.2008, 3rd AC or Sleeper, Cleartrip returns only 2 trains. Indianrail.gov.in and irctc.co.in retruns 8 trains. Why the difference?

Gladson—there are a couple reasons that IRCTC’s search results differ from Cleartrip’s results:

• Cleartrip shows only those trains operating on your exact date of travel, IRCTC shows all trains for your route, irrespective of whether they operate on your preferred date
• Cleartrip respects the station codes you enter while searching and displays only those trains operating between the stations you entered; IRCTC sometimes shows trains operating from nearby stations

Given that 21 Dec, 2008 is a Sunday, only two trains operate. To see all trains for the route, irrespective of date of travel, click here

Please see that all 8 of the below trains do run on Sunday too. Below is a copy/paste from irctc.co.in. Even ngpay gives me the same below result. Also Indianrail.gov.in.

For you information, irctc also lists only those trains which run on the psecific date input by the user.

Please clarify…

If you seacrh for CBE to SBC on 23.12.2008, on cleartrip, it returns only 3 trains for 3AC, whereas, irctc.co.in and ngpay returns 4 trains, sunning on tuesday.

Why the difference?

Today when I searched Kollam to Coimbatore on 21st Dec, 3AC, I get 6 results, whereas IRCTC returns 8 still.

Still difference!!!
