Cleartrip launches CLEARTRIP MOBILE, a Comprehensive Mobile Deal Search Initiative

Mumbai, March 15, 2007 : Cleartrip, India’s second largest and fastest growing online travel portal has now gone a step further and proven its technically superior systems with the launch of a breakthrough and advanced technology, the CLEARTRIP MOBILE. With the introduction of this brand new service, customers can search for the best air fares from your mobile phone by sending one simple SMS. Cleartrip has tied up with Paymate, a revolutionary SMS based payment service to power the Mobile Search Product. Cleartrip Mobile currently services only domestic flights within India.

In three simple steps, customers can now search for and access the best deals even while they are on the move. All this is possible at the touch of finger tips with just an SMS to 667744 with the city of departure, city of arrival and date of travel. The results are almost instantaneous with a maximum of 8 of the best all inclusive fares, so as not to clutter the mobile screen. Customers can then send an SMS with the serial number of the desired flight and receive a call from Cleartrip to complete the booking. Customers also have the option to book the chosen flight through www.cleartrip.com or by calling Cleartrip customer support. The fares shown are per adult and for one–way travel; for return journey airfares a second search is required. The Cleartrip Mobile service is currently available on majority network carriers including Airtel, BPL, Hutch (Orange), Idea, Tata, MTNL and Reliance CDMA.

Speaking on this tie–up, Sandeep Murthy, Chief Executive Officer, Cleartrip said, “We are very excited to launch an extremely simple yet effective mode of search by the quintessential mobile. Cleartrip takes its commitment to make travel effortless for every customer and uses its edge, by way of new age technology to do so. This brand new product has been designed to be comprehensive and accessible to all.”

Cleartrip Mobile is currently available to mobile phone subscribers only in India. The service will work on any mobile phone or device which supports sending and receiving of text messages or SMSes. While Cleartrip currently won’t charge customers to send a query or to receive results, however network service provider’s tariffs to send and receive text messages would apply. Cleartrip has even taken care to display airline codes and names on the website to shorten the length of the message sent to the customer’s mobile.
