One thing that separates Hierapolis from other ruined sites is that when you tire of exploring you can rest your weary feet amid sunken Roman columns in the resplendent Pamukkale Termal pool. Besides the pool, the ruins themselves are spectacular, in particular the extraordinary necropolis. The site also houses an excellent archaeology museum.
