Bucharest's most infamous star attraction, the Palace of Parliament, is the big mama of monstrous buildings. Conceived at the height of Ceauşescu's Communist fervour, it was called, ironically, the House of the People before 1989. The enormous showcase of Romanian craftmanship now houses the chamber of deputies in its grandiose innards.
The 45-minute tour (in English, French or Romanian) is a staggering insight into Ceauşescu's ego-driven vision.
