Must See Norway - Norsk Skogbrukmuseum

The Norwegian Forestry Museum concentrates on hunting, trapping, logging and freshwater fishing from ancient times to the present day. There's a nature information centre, geological and meteorological exhibits, wood carvings, an aquarium, nature dioramas with all manner of stuffed native wildlife (including a mammoth) and a 20,000-volume reference library.

Outdoor exhibits in the museum grounds and across the bridge on the island of Prestøya feature a large arboretum with 80 Nordic tree species, a couple of historic sawmills, an old bog iron plant and riverside freshwater fish ponds.
