The Ark is a substantial, sometimes controversial contemporary art museum. Opened in 1996, the stark modernist building is as much a work of art as the exhibits inside. The collection features the works of leading Danish contemporary artists (such as Per Bak Jensen, Per Kirkeby and Asger Jorn), with an emphasis on photo-based art, sculpture and installations.
