This monastery has evolved into a complex of mustard-toned buildings that is home to Cistercian monks and successful beer-, bread- and cheese-making industries; Orval is best associated with its Trappist brew. Only the ruins of the original 12th-century abbey and a small museum located in an 18th-century cellar are open to day visitors.
